To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. I suppose if you stay in one of the suites or a penthouse this would be a fabulous place to stay, but we stayed in a small room with an even smaller bathroom. I will say our room's view was awesome and the bed linens were very comfortable. I... More

I absolutely love staying at the Sunset Tower Hotel. I've stayed at the property a number of times and each time I invariably end up extending my stay because I just don't want to leave. The atmosphere is more of that of a private club than a hotel. It's super private, conveniently located, designed like a place the legendary rat... More

NIce room, not vey big but all we needed (just a King bed and a little space around it, tv,radio, bed side drawers) the bathroom is very spacious though. The wifi is not the best but it worked. Super noisy when cleaning the rooms next to yours, didn't bother us since we woke up early but if you plan to... More

After 3 days of Disney, there was a wonderful antidote to lines, heat and the Mouse house - and that is the calm and tranquility of the Sunset Tower. This is not 'hipster' LA - this is classic old Hollywood and it's stunning art deco building hosts the best staff, the most wonderful bar and restaurant and rooms which are... More

First time stay at the Sunset Tower. All the top notch reviews are well deserved. We received all the benefits and upgrades that are part of the AmEx Platinum program but which are not always available at every hotel. My family was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which created privacy and comfort. The bedrooms are good size and the... More

Back after 6 months, believe it or not Angel was there again, and not only did he recognize me, he also remembered what I liked to eat. Really feels like home, every time I walk in. Might actually not rent a house in LA anymore and just stay here :-)

Growing up and having lots of family in Los Angeles has limited my experience with the hotels in the city. So it was really fun having a chance to do just that as we celebrated my Dad's wedding, and stayed, at this hotel. I'm a sucker for monumental architectural achievements and the Tower certainly is just that. It's art-deco without... More

There is only so much you can do with an old hotel. You want to keep the charm but we want wifi , flat screens, etc. They have done a good job merging the two. The lobby with its vintage dark paneling is small, cave-like and shockingly dark after the California sunshine, but its beautiful and you wont see another... More

I travel a lot with my job and always look forward to visiting la as I know I'll get to stay at the tower. Everything is so perfect from ambassador Tim Cunningham and his staff to maitred James Lukanik... More

I stayed a few months ago but wasn't as impressed. This time I absolutely loved it and this is my top hotel in LA now. I LOVE this place. The feel of it, rooms, pool, it's amazing. Now my #1 favorite hotel in LA - and can't wait to come back each month for work!

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
