This boutique hotel is truly a hidden gem. It is located on a quiet residential street in West Hollywood. The staff are professional and very warm and accommodating! My bf and I stayed there earlier this month and upon checkin he let them know it was my birthday. Within an hour of our arrival a bottle of champagne and a... More

What a great hotel. From the beds to the service - brilliant. I only stayed 2 nights, but wish I stayed longer! One of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in. Another great point was the shower! A rain shower with actual pressure. Absolutely loved it. I stayed in a Superior 1 bedroom and highly recommend it with the... More

From the super comfy bed that made me feel like I was sleeping in a squishy cloud to the exceptional staff, the Sunset Marquis did not disappoint! Great hotel with a really great bar and pool areas. Just don't bother with the coffee! It's terrible.

Great location - even though we had a rental car, we used Uber to get around locally. Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu & Calabasas all a quick drive from the hotel. We loved the intimate, quiet, layed back atmosphere. No screaming kids at these pools. The restaurant was outstanding. Every single employee we met was friendly & helpful. The service was... More

The Sunset Marquis has a lot going for it: excellent and quiet location, outstanding food at the restaurant, two swimming pools, lush landscaping, complimentary pass to the great nearby Equinox Gym, rock-and-roll history, very good staff. But there are some serious problems that need to be addressed: The tired old main building where the regular rooms are located, which appears... More

If you are within a 100 mile radius of this property and you need a place to stay, this should be your only option. No matter the cost of the room, this is again, the only place to stay. From the moment your vehicle pulls up to the front of the Sunset Marquis awning and you are warmly greeted by... More

After a few days at another hotel for business, I jumped over to the Marquis hotel for a few days, and it was well worth it. This was my first time staying in one of the Bungalows, and I'll never go back. Tucked away amongst a myriad of lush landscaping the bungalows offer a welcome break from the city. Rooms... More

So me and 3 friends decided to stay here for just short of 2 weeks as park of a 3 week holiday. One of my friends done all the booking so I had no knowledge of what the place is like or the different types of rooms available. When we arrived I was not disappointed. This place is at the... More

From the road you almost don't realize the hotel is there, which is a plus in my book. Standard rooms are clean, decent but old and a little overpriced, small and often very noisy. Restaurant, bar and grounds are all lovely, romantic and atmospheric. This self assured, stylish but brassy little hotel is ideally situated to walk up to Sunset... More

Decided to book a two night stay in West Hollywood during a two week stay in Southern California and chose the Sunset Marquis over the Standard and the Chateau Marmont as I had been reading about the flair and the excellent customer service at this place. Sadly, the whole experience of our stay at the Sunset Marquis left us with... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
