This place has been on my hitlist for many years and we finally got to visit last September (I'm a little late with my revue). Thankfully we just missed the famous Uk boyband but had a few chuckles watching a few teens trying to get in to the grounds. Came across a few familiar faces at the bars too but... More

From the moment I walked in the discreet entrance of the Sunset Marquis, I was blown away by the beautiful open air spaces, including the pools, restaurant, and bar. Orange trees loaded with fruit, gentle breezes, and other than the skyscrapers being built right next door, you would have no idea you are only a few steps from Sunset. I... More

Turn up the side street to get to the Sunset Marquis and you will think you are visiting your rich Los Angeles aunt's condo. The quiet backstreet is nothing but condos and little dogs being walked until the dead end and then you see the little gem tucked away. Look up the street further (up the hill and about one... More

The hotels location is amazing - just 1 minute walk to Sunset Blvd. shopping street. The property per se is great, the rooms are very comfortable and the pool areas are nice and welcoming to relax in. Everything was clean, neat, and well kept. The restaurant is beautiful and surrounded by greenery - this is what I liked most about... More

This boutique hotel is truly a hidden gem. It is located on a quiet residential street in West Hollywood. The staff are professional and very warm and accommodating! My bf and I stayed there earlier this month and upon checkin he let them know it was my birthday. Within an hour of our arrival a bottle of champagne and a... More

What a great hotel. From the beds to the service - brilliant. I only stayed 2 nights, but wish I stayed longer! One of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in. Another great point was the shower! A rain shower with actual pressure. Absolutely loved it. I stayed in a Superior 1 bedroom and highly recommend it with the... More

From the super comfy bed that made me feel like I was sleeping in a squishy cloud to the exceptional staff, the Sunset Marquis did not disappoint! Great hotel with a really great bar and pool areas. Just don't bother with the coffee! It's terrible.

Great location - even though we had a rental car, we used Uber to get around locally. Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu & Calabasas all a quick drive from the hotel. We loved the intimate, quiet, layed back atmosphere. No screaming kids at these pools. The restaurant was outstanding. Every single employee we met was friendly & helpful. The service was... More

The Sunset Marquis has a lot going for it: excellent and quiet location, outstanding food at the restaurant, two swimming pools, lush landscaping, complimentary pass to the great nearby Equinox Gym, rock-and-roll history, very good staff. But there are some serious problems that need to be addressed: The tired old main building where the regular rooms are located, which appears... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
