My 7 day stay at the legendary Chateau Marmont has been an adventure. In a great location, with wonderful staff and service and a low key party atmosphere in the evening - it makes a great and sociable experience. In the heat however, I found the pool area to be inadequate, not enough seating and because of the foliage for... More

My 10 day stay at the legendary Chateau Marmont was sheer perfection. Unlike so many historic luxury hotels now revamped - and often destroyed - by celebrity designers, it was marvellous to see how the Chateau has bucked this banal trend, retaining its old-world glamour whilst still being the hippest place in town. My beautiful room had all the modern... More

Fun place for sophisticated meals or drinks at the restaurant. Lobby is fun for hanging out on the couches and having cocktails. Celebrity haunt for sure...but low-key. Sometimes quiet, sometimes busy, but always chic and interesting. Hotel feels a little beaten up and rooms are slightly dated. Some have kitchenettes as well. Makes you feel like you're part of the... More

Definitely a spot for hollywood ambiance. We had a bungalow which was large and spacious and surprisingly quiet considering the Sunset location. The staff was exceptional and attentive. Breakfasts were delicious and room service timely. Can't beat the lovely poolside lounging. What was not appealing were the stains on the bedroom carpet and the very vintage bathtub/shower. To avoid a... More

I cannot understand why this hotel is so highly rated. Yes the dining room is lovely and the garden pretty. But the rooms are soooo old fashioned and just not up to today's standards, particularly the bathrooms. And our experience of breakfast was very poor - wrong things, delivered, some missing, hot drinks virtually cold. And having pointed this out,... More

I had dreamt of coming here with high expectations and it was more amazing than I had imagined. I cannot wait to revisit for a good long stay, I'd make a point to come to Los Angeles just to stay here again. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. I stayed two nights in a junior suite which was a... More

Booked 4 nights at the Chateau, so excited. However left after 1 night, just not for us. Underwhelmed by the old style rooms and couldn't stay much longer. Have to say the staff were amazing especially Travis. Might be for some but definitely not for us :-(

My most recent experience was in June but over the last 15 years I've stayed in the bungalows by the pool, the apartment suites many times and best of all the suite which was apparently Marilyn Monroe and Elton John's favourite complete with grand piano in the living room, I think it's the classiest and coolest hotel in the world.... Is this a great business hotel? No! Go find one of the million Hilton's if you want 14 bed-side plugs and an ergonomic office chair. The Marmont is not about that. Hercule Poirot would stay here. This is a wonderful living museum where you can spend a night. The service was impeccable, the room was gigantic, as I learned later... More

For the money to get the lowest grade room at the property, you are better off staying at the Four Seasons where everything is always impeccable. We got Room 15 on the lobby floor which was the least expensive (still over $500/night) and it was very noisy and right next to the mgmt office. The room was ok but the... More
