Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel! Extremely clean and attention to detail throughout! Great location and an impressive staff who will not stop until you are satisfied. The one area for improvement would be for an additional elevator, or perhaps a separate service elevator, otherwise everything else is great. Overnight guest parking is a bit high compared to guest parking, but otherwise... More

This hotel is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and that is EXACTLY why we love it! The hotel itself feels much like a small apartment building somewhere on the Med in Europe. Faux Venetian plaster walls and paintings everywhere with interesting sculptures and furnishings. The Rooftop is an oasis that feels like you are somewhere in a country garden... More

Lovely hotel in West Hollywood with large comfortable rooms and a beautiful roof garden with pool (and sun beds with $250 cover charges!) and restaurant. Staff can be a little on the aloof side -with one of the female receptionist barely bothering to look up at you). Reasonably priced food and drinks though-sit with a chilled glass and watch the... I have some friends that I would never recommend this place to because they want something modern and sleek that works like clock work. They would be better off at the W Hotel but I like the Petit Ermitage because it doesn't feel like a hotel but staying at an apartment with a magical little garden and pool on top.... More

There are hotels that win me over with efficiency and cleanliness and service. But the ones that I fall in love with usually have that and something more, a quirkiness, a personality, an overall theme. Petit Ermitage reminds me of a riad in Morocco (though they said India when we commented on it) with its flowers and tile and rooftop... More

The hotel itself is in a great location and on a quite street and its curb appeal is nice. The decor is going for that India vibe and it works. Our room was very charming with a couch and a fire place. Balcony was worthless really. The valet is like $38 which kinda stings-but hey its California everything is expensive!... More

Such a wonderful hotel! We booked online because it is in an area we wanted to be in and the price was right. Wow, did we luck out! The hotel is very small from the outside, you could drive right by if you aren't paying attention. But, it is surprisingly spacious inside. Charming decor, beautiful roof deck with multiple areas... The Petit Ermitage is in a good location and they have put a lot of time and energy into the design and outfitting of the hotel. However, the service is disappointing, especially in the restaurant. Service was slow, expensive (gratuity included), and rude. I would not suggest this hotel if you are expecting friendly quality service. The hotel looks good... More

A relaxing experience all around. Such a hidden gem in a fabulous location. I will absolutely return on my next trip to Los Angeles. The hotel is so beautiful and the rooftop dining and pool areas are spectacular. This is a must stay place for anyone who enjoys beauty and serenity.

The Petit Ermitage is in a good location close to Santa Monica Blvd and many bars and restaurants. The entrance is relatively low key and could be mistaken for a small restaurant (as one cab driver did), though there are a fair number of steps to go up if you are carrying luggage. The desk staff were friendly and check... More

Hello Richard, Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. Although I would have love to have you as a repeat guest I am happy to read that the Montrose and Le Parc's are more down your alley. Our style is definitely not comparable and we understand that some clientele prefer to stay at those establishments. If... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
