Not a ton of options in Weaverville. Based on availability, we chose the 49er. We reserved 6 rooms. When we arrived we were told that they only had 5 rooms for us. They had given one to a lady that booked a room on the wrong day and showed up at the last minute. We were passing through for work... More

The senior gentleman who owns this place is wonderfully welcoming and friendly. It's actually charming that they still use a spiral notebook and pencil to make reservations. It is a small town after all. Just call ahead a few days to conform your name is there. Our room was large with 2 queens. We were hiking for 3 days so... More

The room was clean. The bed was alright. Room had a coffee pot, fridge and microwave. Those things were great for me. The motel it self is old and it shows. It was quite and the price per night was great. It's what I would except for Weaverville. Will be staying there again.

Prior to the stay, I'd read the reviews and thought I knew what to expect but no one mentioned the appalling reek of stale cigarette smoke in Room 17. It wasn't just a little problem, it was knock you on your keister stink every time the door was opened. The whole motel was booked out for our group so no... More

We were part of a group that stayed at the motel this past weekend. When I made our reservation I was told it was for a new room with a king size bed. I asked for a confirmation number but was told to just show up. We did that and learned their reservation system is a notebook written in pencil!... More

Last summer/fall I was in Trinity county for field work. Mostly I camped, but I also stayed here numerous times for 2-3 nights, then for 2 weeks straight. While they don't have big flat screen TVs or modern decorations (it's quite dated), they do offer outstanding hospitality, clean facilities, all the basic comforts and conveniences (microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, table... My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the 49er and it was fantastic! The room was clean and crisp. No neighborly or traffic noises. Staff was super friendly. Will definitely stay here again if and when the time comes.

This is a clean, well appointed motel. Nothing fancy but all the essentials and some extras such as refrigerators in the rooms. The price was also fair..$75. We visit Weaverville about twice a year and always stay here. Also, be sure to eat dinner at the La Grange cafe.

Needs a bit of an update. Flat screen TV's would make this place better. The popcorn in the reception area is a nice touch. I have been here annually during steelhead season for the past 5 years or so. It is comfortable so long as the people in the adjoining room are relatively quiet.

I called in early February to make a one-night reservation for late August. Within a week, I called back to cancel our reservation as our travel plans had changed and was assured by the person I spoke to that they would take care of it. Both of these transactions were conducted by telephone as this establishment does not have online... More
