Don't get it. This place has won so many awards clearly by confusing some guests into believing that they are experiencing something that cannot be done by themselves. (It is called eating less and exercising more.) The rooms, food, and spa are average. The activities are varied but not unlike what one would find at the neighborhood fitness center. The... More

This was my third trip to Cal-a-Vie and I always worry that it won't be as good this time. It is always even better. The staff anticipates your needs, is warm, talented and attentive, and not at all unapproachable. The food is better than ever. It costs a fortune and is worth every penny. I hope to return every year... More

I had the recent privilege of staying at this resort late October for 3 nights. This resort incorporates fine dining with 6 star accommodations and top-notch activities to burn off those fine dining calories. Each morning at 6:30 am there is an optional hike or walk in the adjoining hills. After breakfast at 8 am, there are fitness classes on... More

As I departed my hometown, alone and ready for my first destination spa experience, I was nervous. I arrived to the beautiful location and led to my quaint room near the pool. My scheduling was a little later than I would have liked, but by 7:00 I was settled with 20 new friends! I was absolutely thrilled with the variety... More

What can I say - I have now been back to the wonderful Cal-a-Vie three times. This is an amazing fitness resort. My previous review says it all - the staff, the rooms, the food, the other guests- all fantastic. Really - if you are looking for an amazing fitness, spa experience - don't miss this resort!

Many have already filled in details. I will just say what I most love. --The staff. Everyone is superb. Professional, friendly, going all out for each guest. During one treatment, I exclaimed: "There's more??" "That's our motto," she said. Another word you will hear: "Yes! (What else can I do for you?)" --The grounds. Scenic and hilly. A 500-year-old French... More

Many friends have recommended Cal A Vie. We decided to treat ourselves to a healthy beginning of a new year. Being out of shape and aging we had no idea if we were up to the exercise. We arrived with no idea of what was going on but soon felt comfortable. We stayed in room 32, a beautiful king suite with... I was at Cal A Vie the first week of August this year. Was nervous about going somewhere by myself, never have done that before. I could not have been more pleased. It was the most self-fulfilling trip I have ever taken. The staff is so accommodating, anything you need at any time of day was taken care of. The... More

I have visited many destination spas over the years and I have to say that this was the very best (as well as the most expensive). But even at that cost, it can't possibly cover their expenses for each guest. Everything was fabulous. They listen to what you want and truly arrange your schedule, room location, meals accordingly. Food is... More
