I found the Fox & Hounds to be a fantastic place in all respects. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and the staff and owners so very friendly and helpful. Next the food was superb and the menu for a small hotel exceptional along with a very good wine list. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully set out with... More

This idyllic bed and breakfast is like stepping into someone's home. From the moment I walked in I was called by my name and from then on all staff new my name, a lovely touch to making you feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and the shower is good in the bathroom. The rooms are a little small but perfectly... More

The hotel is located in a peaceful scenic village with lots of heritage and culture including a 14th century church. Service is great, the food is excellent and the locals are friendly. I would recommend staying here.

Visited for Sunday lunch with all the family. It was a very sunny day so we chose to dine outside. We had an excellent lunch , served by very pleasant staff. We all had a great meal and fantastic desserts. We then walked to the nearby 17th century church (200 yards from the restaurant), as recommended by the staff. What... More

Stayed just overnight while visiting Barry. Arrived a bit early but room was ready. Nice big room with settee and coffee table as well as the usual bed etc. Stairs would be a problem for the infirm but room spotless. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and food and wine was excellent, well presented and tasty. Staff and owners... More

A friend and I had booked a table for midday (opening time) as a stop off on a circular walk we were doing. We arrived by 11.30 and sat in a covered area at the back of the pub expecting to wait 1/2 an hour before being seen to. The waitress came out almost straight away and offered us drinks... More

7 of us stayed here over the May bank holiday for the European rugby cup finals in Cardiff. Everything was great, good food, comfy and quiet rooms, warm welcome, decent real ale and even with a £40 minibus taxi into Cardiff it was still cheaper to stay at The Fox and Hounds than one of the chains in the city... After staying in January for the first time every time I visit I stay here. Good is excellent, rooms are fantastic and John and Sue really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Anyone visiting wales / Cardiff for business or short break should book here and not use the big chains. Rural setting but close to... More

Went looking for a midweek lunch and decided to make the trip to Llancarfan as it was somewhere I had not been in many years and remembered being impressed by the Fox & Hounds. First thing to note about this pub is that it is far more restaurant than pub, with fully laid tables, white linen napkins and a fairly... More
