I know one doesn't expect a bargain when staying at the Ritz but I didn't expect to get charged an extra $25 a day for a resort fee and $35 for valet (there's no choice on where to park and gondola was not operating). The room was nice but small, great beds, loved the fireplace. Awesome main seating area, like... More

Went for a romantic getaway. The hotel seemed lovely driving up to it BUT the rooms were more holiday inn than ritz quality. They were really rather pedestrian. The pool was small. There were crying children all around. It was nothing to write home about. Aside from the "resort fee" there was an additional parking fee (25 for the resort... More

Wow..... We felt like we had this beautiful property to ourselves. This is a wonderful mountain resort with sweeping views, many on site activities and as always impeccable service. Take a short tram ride down the mountain to Northstar for shops, restaraunts, entertainment and more activities. There is as much or as little to do as you would like. Take... More

I used my Marriott points which at first thought 50,000 points per night was very high until I stayed here. Their staff was great and the resort was very nice. You are charged a resort fee of $25 but that included use of their spa area which was top notch. I was told the building cost of the hotel was... More

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the peaceful, beautiful setting. Pool/spa were nice, gym was good, with nice selection of classes most days (just not 2 of the 3 days we were there...). Would have been nice if the gondola was running but Northstar was a 5 minute drive if you want to find someplace to eat... More

Stayed memorial day weekend and expected great things from the previous Ritz proprties I've stayed in. I was somewhat disappointed! The rooms were nice but not anything special. The housekeeping was below average: (1) left dirty rugs on top of our clean clothes (2) took the trash can out of the room and forgot to bring it back (3) the... More

The understated and elegant Ritz-Carlton hotel fits into the mountain as if it belongs there. The ski in ski out appears to be the most incredibly convenient I've seen and can't wait to come back during the ski season. Came off-season and never expected the joy of a snowfall for Memorial Day weekend but was beautiful. Absolutely serene off-the-grid-of-stress location.... More

Nestled among the pines and cozy. The room is spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the views are spectacular. However, most impressive item: massages and spa facility which includes a salt water pool, dry sauna, etc. The location is 5 minutes from North Star, 10 minutes to Truckee which has has a fun/funky shopping area, wine tasting bar, and some... Although we didn't stay in the hotel, (we stayed in a residence on their property) we used many of the amenities of the hotel and were "wow'd" with their service. Spring skiing trip: Cafe restaurant was great for breakfast and lunch. Walk up service and waiters brought you your order wherever you decided to sit (inside in the living room... More
