Over the top food and presentation! A chef actually came to our table to ask about the food. He was charming , young and really tall .I appreciated the plates being hot or cold depending on the food. The surprise highlight was the plate of cheeses and meat, esp. the duck, yum! At that to a summer breeze cocktail and... More

The large, but cozy lobby has comfortable seating around a huge fire place, but since it was summer, only the outdoor fireplace was lit at night where many guests were enjoying making their own smores. The service at the Ritz is about the best you can get anywhere. Every employee, be it the maid, chef, bellperson, or General Manager greets... More

We bolted here from a very crowded lakefront hotel for the last couple of nights of our Tahoe trip, and were so glad we did. The summer scene up high in this ski resort is very mellow, and the hotel only enhanced that mood. The rooms are handsome; ours had a sweeping view over the surrounding landscape. The spa is... More

I have never been to Tahoe and have never stayed at a Ritz before, so I was excited to do both. The room was ok, clean, but a little on the smaller side. It could have been my high expectations of the Ritz that caused me to give it only 3 stars. The service was ok, just like any other... More

We spent 5 days at the Ritz Carlton Tahoe during the 4th July break and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are top notch. People we met once (eg bell hops) would greet us by name just passing in the corridor days later and that was consistent across all the staff members. The spa was great and they followed... More

Although the winter snow cover cannot be beat, the summer time views of the mountains and forest were a beautiful sight. The staff were consistantly available and eager to please. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and fireplaces. We recommend a stay here to get away from the hustle and bustle - while being a short tram ride down into... More

Everything about this hotel was perfect. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Planning on doing many outdoor things, hiking, kayaking, etc. However, Mother had other plans... It snowed everyday except one. We were "forced" to spend our days at their beautiful spa. Relaxing, having lunch, taking fitness classes, sitting near the fire outside while having cocktails-it was perfect. Sometimes... More

We paid for club lounge and it was worth it! The lounge staff was fabulous, especially Julie and Rogelio! the food was excellent, they accommodated our special dietary needs perfectly. They shared history of the area and hotel and were delightful. The property is about as perfect as hotels get - beautiful and top quality. Spa was outstanding with private... More

I know one doesn't expect a bargain when staying at the Ritz but I didn't expect to get charged an extra $25 a day for a resort fee and $35 for valet (there's no choice on where to park and gondola was not operating). The room was nice but small, great beds, loved the fireplace. Awesome main seating area, like... More

Went for a romantic getaway. The hotel seemed lovely driving up to it BUT the rooms were more holiday inn than ritz quality. They were really rather pedestrian. The pool was small. There were crying children all around. It was nothing to write home about. Aside from the "resort fee" there was an additional parking fee (25 for the resort... More
