We had never stayed at a Ritz Carlton hotel before and were very excited about our reservation. We reserved a "mountain view" for a couple of nights and boy was that misleading. Yes it was a "mountain view" once you got past the pool, extensive patio area, outdoor bar, hot tub area. It should have been presented as the pool/entertainment... More

My wife and I booked our fifth anniversary vacation at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe (Truckee), which was also a baby-cation, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Everyone was more than accommodating, friendly and helpful. We stayed on the club-level, which includes a buffet-style food arrangement. Breakfast and lunch platters and an evening dessert and drinks service.... More

My husband and I went on our first ever trip to Lake Tahoe over the 4th of July holiday. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton because we had heard that it was one of the best Ritz Carlton's in the United States. We had already decided to rent a car for the week as we usually do when traveling so... More

I stayed here with my wife and two kids (1 and 8 yrs old) and another couple with their 2 year-old. After flying into Reno, we drove to the hotel (30-40 mins) and once we approached the hotel we knew we were in for a treat - it was amazing, a truly beautiful property. We were greeted with smiles and... More

We just returned from a week long stay at The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe and had a wonderful time at this resort. I've stayed in a few Ritz Carlton's in the past and this might be my favorite. Is it a large resort? No. Does it have a lot of activity surrounding the hotel (in the summer)? No. But the... More

I am a frequent TripAdvisor comment reader. My decisions are often based on comments that others write about a property so I take this and what I'm about to write very seriously. I have a feeling that my review would be different had we traveled any other time of the year than New Year's Eve/week 2012/13. We checked in on... More

We stayed for one night on our way to Reno and found the hotel to be gorgeous, very well appointed and staffed and with great pool facilities. Wifi wasn't working and the attendant wasn't much help, but that was the only negative. BTW, when I stay at discount chains the internet is free and works great but at expensive hotels... More

We take the free gondola from the Village at Northstar up to the Ritz a lot and enjoy drinks and appetizers in the Living Room. It's a great place to catch a game or sit at the bar. There are lots of cozy places to sit around the fireplace as well. The property is beautiful and located in one of... More

My wife and I kept calling this our "castle." I could post photos but it wouldn't explain how far up the mountain this property is. "Secluded" doesn't begin to explain the geography. So if you think you're going to run around the corner for a coffee, newspaper or bottle of water, that's not going to happen. But if you're OK... More

We stayed here over the 4th of July holiday and I can't wait to go back. This place is great for families and couples and there is truly something for everyone. The staff is amazing, the rooms are beautiful, the restaurant is great. I can't enough good things about this place. The hotel is very close to the village of... More
