I was born and raised in Italy and I have never in my life had such horrible gnocchi. The gnocchi came out like large long dumpling that were burnt might I add, burnt, gnocchi is supposed to be boiled this gnocchi was pan fried. The "tomate sauce" was awful and tasted like canned sauce that would be the quality of... More

Spent 5 nights in mid February for a combination business/pleasure stay. Service, atmosphere and amenities were all above average. No question that this is a RC and EVERYTHING is expensive. If you can get past that before you arrive, you will not allow it to effect your stay. Check in was seamless and room was ready at noon upon arrival.... More

Ok, it's a Ritz, so yes, much of the experience is as you would expect of a 5 star accommodation (the only one in lake tahoe by the way). It's a beautiful property, and we liked being high up in the trees (about a 7 minute ride up the hill off the main road). The staff was friendly and professional,... More

i like the location, it's out on its own and offers tranquility. staff are super friendly and helpful! restaurant has decent food. usually i don't shop, however, my friend and i did enjoy shopping at one of the stores and ended up shopping for more at its main store at Northstar. like the fireplace in the room. wish the pool... My party stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in July 2012. The hotel is beautiful. A modern take on a traditional lodge. The communal areas are very pleasant and the rooms are tastefully furnished and clean. The hotel is located about a 20 minute drive from Lake Tahoe. An excellent, tranquil setting. The staff were more relaxed than in... More

Everything about this resort was impressive. Excellent architecture and furnishings. Quintessential ski lodge. Slept with our balcony door open as it was in the 40s at night and in the 70s during the day with little humidity. Hiking, biking, spa, pool, fitness center, and a convention staff that kept us fat and happy. Hated to have to return to the... More

Beautiful hotel, as usual with RC, prepared credit card for major trauma. Lovely rooms, beautiful facilities (shame no indoor pool), closest facilities at Northstar and a long way from the lake and Tahoe City. We stayed only 1 night, a shame. We ate dinner out, breakfast very good, prices astronomical. Staff very friendly and good shuttle service to Northstar village.... More

What a great property! We took a quick weekender with our dogs, and could not have been more pleased. The staff was polite, efficient and happy to help. The location is great, 10 minutes to Kings Beach or Truckee and trails right behind the property. We had a ground floor room, no real view but very convenient when taking the... More

An absolute all around perfect stay! Let me start off by saying that I never really thought of myself as a Ritz patron. We tend to gravitate towards local flavor and don't like to be trapped in a resort. (Even though we love the Marriott points) However, this stay has challenged that perception. The bell staff and valets were wonderful... More

Over the top food and presentation! A chef actually came to our table to ask about the food. He was charming , young and really tall .I appreciated the plates being hot or cold depending on the food. The surprise highlight was the plate of cheeses and meat, esp. the duck, yum! At that to a summer breeze cocktail and... More
