All three of the staff we met were clearly unhappy with their jobs. Very unfriendly responses to even the most basic questions. The room was very basic with a small 17" TV, poorly cleaned with cobwebs hanging from light fixture in ceiling. No plug for tub. TV remote only worked in one direction. Lots of deferred maintenance here. Coffee in... more

If you need a decent place to stay overnight or do not plan to stay on the property then this place is just fine. Location is a couple of miles from the historic center of town and is very close to the interstate. The continental breakfast was very modest. Some loud groups but served us well for a one night... more

The Inn at Truckee is a perfect choice if you're staying overnight for skiing in the area. It is no frills. Adequately clean but not perfect. The bathroom was clean enough. We had a room near the freeway side of the building. There was light freeway noise with the room windows closed. We easily solved that by leaving the heater... more

This is a very basic place where you sleep and shower, but nothing more. It was clean, everything worked, but there are no little extras, no ambiance. Once you accept it for what it is, it's fine. But it's not the place for a romantic or luxurious get-away. Location is ok; it's not in downtown Truckee but only a few... more

This is an odd little hotel that appears to have been built for the ski crowd who don't plan on spending much time in it. There is no outdoor patio or area where one can sit outside (besides an extremely small porch with 2 chairs off the room with the hot tub). The lobby is also very small. The hallways... more

I travel several days per week on business throughout northern California. This hotel is pretty good. My room was nice and quiet (although the hotel was not very full) and pretty clean. The breakfast was simple but above average. The wireless internet in my room worked OK. There is a grocery store and a few restaurants within walking distance. more

The Inn at Truckee was a disappointment all around. The lobby and rooms were of the quality of a Motel 6. The furnishings were spartan at best, very outdated and of cheap quality. There was no closet, just a clothes rack in the room, with the ironing board and iron hanging next to it - no ambience to speak of.... more

I am not going to review this hotel. You can read other reviews for that . What I am going to do is explain how the Inn at Truckee resolves its own errors - at least in my case. When I reserved I was told that I would have a queen bed on the bottom floor. We were running late... more

We stayed there for 3 days last week. We took the "no elevator" $59/night special...which means you merely need to take stairs to your room on the 3rd floor, which was no issue whatsoever. The room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the money. Every other motel that we researched in Truckee was over $100/night. more

Needed a place to stay for one night in March. Looking around what was available in the North Lake Tahoe area led me to the Inn at Truckee. I was a little worried about going with the least expensive place but was pleasantly surprised with the Inn. The room was clean and ready when i arrived. I didn't take advantage... more
