This is a beautiful, comfortable hotel, and I think the only hotel in Tomales. Rooms have true queen beds, very spacious, nice lotions and soaps. The internet seemed mostly functional. There is serve-yourself tea, coffee, and juice at all hours, which you drink in real ceramic mugs! It's a nice touch that makes the place feel very welcoming. Continental breakfast... More

Came upon this hotel by chance whilst exploring the PCH, north of San Francisco. What a find. We were made very welcome by the lady at the desk and got two rooms, ours being a suite, for the four of us, for $400. The rooms looked recently renovated, great TV, lovely bathroom with soaps and lotions etc. plus one of... More

This is a wonderful Inn with great rooms in classic tiny town. Perfect for exploring The Tomales Bay Area along Hwy 1. This is best described as a place for fun and reflection with friends, family or colleagues (if you like them). Could be very romantic for a couple looking for time together without all the fuss of the fancy... More

I booked this from the stellar reviews. First there is no service. This is a self service inn. You let yourself in. let yourself out(with a code)..leave the key in a box.. and you serve yourself a continental breakfast. The only person we saw was i think the maid leaving for the day. The breakfast was so unappealing and no... More

Finding a place to stay on highway 1 can be a challange. We were pleasantly surprised to find this one. It has been renovated and decorated nicely. The owner has spent a lot of time getting everything just right. She was very helpful and friendly. This Inn feels a bit like a bed and breakfast, which I enjoyed. There is... More

We were exploring the area and dropped on to Tomalas, it was like going back in time, Penny welcomed us to her `Continental Inn` and room 8. It rang of the old west with the decor and furniture, the bed was probably one of the most comfortable we have slept in. Right next door to the William Tell House with... More

The rooms are as described and overall it is good value. We stayed two nights in room #7, it is well sized for two people and it was very clean. However, the entire building has a musty odor, as if all the windows need to be opened for a good airing out after the winter. Not overwhelming, but always noticeable... More

First let me apologize for the musty smell that you experienced, we try to have the windows open whenever possible ( depending on weather) but will definitely work on this. We do have fairly fast wifi in the building and I use it myself to stream movies, and have no problems. Maybe the signal was weak the day you were... More

I believe the Continental Inn in Tomales is one of the best-kept secrets in Marin & Sonoma counties for those seeking a serene, peaceful, get-away in a truly beautiful setting. In my opinion, the inn is perfect in every way. The décor is charming, the entire place is spotless, warm and inviting. We were a group of five ladies celebrating... More

We needed to escape from the remodel we had been involved in for eight weeks. Ended up at The Continental INN .... What a delight, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms spacious, and the beds so comfortable I even pulled the sheets up to get the brand of bed, I asked the Owner Penny & she kindly gave me the... More

I wasn't expecting such a great environment and accommodations on this weekend trip to the California seashore. What a beautiful countryside. I felt I could have been in my favorite part of the world; the Cotswolds in England where I frequently go. The inn, The Continental Inn in Tomales Bay in Northern California, was the best surprise. What a beautiful... More
