The rooms are as described and overall it is good value. We stayed two nights in room #7, it is well sized for two people and it was very clean. However, the entire building has a musty odor, as if all the windows need to be opened for a good airing out after the winter. Not overwhelming, but always noticeable... More

First let me apologize for the musty smell that you experienced, we try to have the windows open whenever possible ( depending on weather) but will definitely work on this. We do have fairly fast wifi in the building and I use it myself to stream movies, and have no problems. Maybe the signal was weak the day you were... More

I believe the Continental Inn in Tomales is one of the best-kept secrets in Marin & Sonoma counties for those seeking a serene, peaceful, get-away in a truly beautiful setting. In my opinion, the inn is perfect in every way. The décor is charming, the entire place is spotless, warm and inviting. We were a group of five ladies celebrating... More

We needed to escape from the remodel we had been involved in for eight weeks. Ended up at The Continental INN .... What a delight, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms spacious, and the beds so comfortable I even pulled the sheets up to get the brand of bed, I asked the Owner Penny & she kindly gave me the... More

I wasn't expecting such a great environment and accommodations on this weekend trip to the California seashore. What a beautiful countryside. I felt I could have been in my favorite part of the world; the Cotswolds in England where I frequently go. The inn, The Continental Inn in Tomales Bay in Northern California, was the best surprise. What a beautiful... More

Quaint and cozy. The only negatives are that they advertised feather beds and our bed was ROCK HARD - so I think the feather bed was missing from our room. Also, the walls are paper thin. Privacy is hard to come by. Other than that, it is a nice place close to Dillon Beach and is charming.

Driving California's Highway 1 is a great experience. Very light traffic, beautiful vistas and charming small towns like Tamales (pronounced Tom-al-less, not Tom-al-lees per the Mexican food dish) are great places to stop for an evening's rest. The Continental is perfect for a great night's sleep. Comfortable beds, large, period decorated rooms, and a very helpful host. Before leaving town,... More

Super clean. Very charming. Quiet. Accommodating. Friendly. Even during a region wide power outage (which lasted a couple hours) they were super helpful. Also - they accepted our dog, which was a life saver the four other places we had passed would not - and we were running out of daylight. This place was such a great surprise. We enjoyed... More

We were looking for a place to stay the night that accepted pets and The Continental Inn was the first place we found. They were very nice and helpful. Moments after checking in the power went out in the town but everyone was super nice and helped us locate somewhere to eat dinner. The room was great and the beds... More

We were so glad to have stayed in this quaint B&B with it's comfy room (the rose garden room) for a 1 night stay. Wished we'd had more time as it was like being at home. Clean and had everything we needed. Booked this property online and not disappointed with our choice. If it was full we didn't hear anyone... More

Had a great stay with two friends. We checked in late and they left the key out for us. The room was really nice and very clean. The continental breakfast was also pretty good. However, there's a cute little cafe across the street. Bonus, it's about 15 minutes from Dillon Beach.
