We just came back from a weekend at Vail and we loved it and made reservations for Sept because we liked it so much. Our site 56 was perfect and since this was our first time there I was so happy the reservation clerk gave us a great spot. The facilities were clean the village area was great with a... More

I really like this campground. It is well kept, the bathrooms are clean and it is pet friendly. It's primarily for RV's. Last weekend was a very busy weekend-2 different bike races, YMCA Indian princess camp out and first weekend most kids were out of school. Unfortunately my dog got scared and escaped her harness (she's a puppy). The staff... More

I came out here for the first time this past weekend. I was out for the YMCA Indian Princesses weekend event with my family. It was the first time I rented an RV and really enjoyed my trip there. The one big negative was there was no power in the entire area where we were assigned. From reading the posts... More

Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear that your family had an enjoyable visit to Vail Lake. The section you were in (Arroyo Seco) had power turned off just before Memorial Day weekend as a precaution for guest safety. There were a couple locations in Arroyo Seco that have the potential to cause problems so we shut the power... More

We stayed at Vail Lake for Memorial Day Weekend. My kids were very excited to go swimming, the pool water was very cold (Pool should have been heated) so the kids were upset. I noticed during the weekend other kids and families felt the same way because you would jump out of the pool immediately. The water at Vail Lake... More

Scott, thanks for the feedback and I am very glad to hear the staff tackled the issue with young drivers of UTV's and golf carts. We are fortunate to have a good team here and keeping everyone safe during their visit is a top priority. We had a cool snap prior to the holiday weekend our water temps in the... More

We stayed at the being of March 2015. I must say, this is more like a camping / RV Resort than a parking lot surronuded by concrete and sod grass. If you like to pull into a concrete pad, have a shrub wall dividing you and your neighbors, and a gazebo, this might not be the place for you. If... More

We just spent two nights with three trailers in three side by side spots. super roomy, easy to park trailer and adjacent car(s). not right by your neighbor, very private.. The power hookups in our spot did not work from the get go, went to the front gate (was around 9:00pm on friday night). the guard had no clue what... More

Scott, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Apologize for the lack of power at your site. But what really concerns me is that staff didn't act to find you a solution to the issue on your way in or offer you an option to communicate the problem to us on your way out. My apologies. Not a... We attended our 4th Halloween weekend and each time it's been a little different. This year a big change is a new company has purchase the entire resort. There are changes coming but in the mean time it was still a fun weekend. We had full hook ups for our trailer, our spot was hard pack dirt which was ok... More

Glad to hear you had a fun Halloween weekend here at Vail Lake. On behalf of all the staff I can say we really enjoyed seeing lots of families here having fun and decorating RV's and campsites for the past month. We look forward to keeping the Halloween tradition going strong in 2015. Tree trimming was only one of the... More

We always camp with a large group during the month of October for their Halloween festival. They do a GREAT job with the haunted hayrides and haunted houses. The kids and adults have a BLAST!! It's a little on the expensive side but worth it! The dance party at night at the little town center is always fun! We are... More

Let me start by saying my family and I have stayed here 6-8 times over the last three years. We bring a large group (20+) people and campers here each year to hangout. Our last excursion turned out to be a nightmare. As were driving toward out spot on a narrow one way road , in the merlot area, a... More

Dan-O ... sorry to read about the trouble you had with the previous operator at Vail. Although I cannot do anything about past customer service issues ... wanted to tell you that over $100,000 has been spent in tree trimming and arborist since the ownership/management change in late August. There was a huge amount of branches that presented a danger... More

We went and had a nice experience. Everybody kept telling us we needed to bring a golf cart but with bicycles and a pickup it wasn't necessary. Overall it looked like it was better back in the day but still was nice enough for us to come back. Because the cost is pretty high at $70 a night we will... More
