Even though this particular location is rather "limited" vis-a-vis a traveler's "options" for both how and/or where to stay, this Best Western Mountain Inn has always been the exact place that I have chosen on my "business out-of-town" trips and I have never encountered anything during those stays that would change my mind to stay elsewhere and I firmly believe... My husband and I needed a place to stay after a long drive from Oakland , CA to home in Las Vegas. We had never stayed in Tehachapi and it was that time that we needed to stop driving and enjoy another part of California. There was a cluster of hotels and inns right next to each other, and after... More

This is a nice motel, but in my opinion a little too pricey. I would have expected the price to be around $80,00 a night, not $103.00 plus tax. The room was clean and comfortable and we had free Wi-Fi. The free breakfast included hot food, cereal, fruit, juice, rolls, etc. We are early risers and we liked that the... More

A non smoking room surrounded by smoking rooms. What is this management thinking? Oh, guess they aren't. It would be to simple to to put smoking rooms together where they would not interfere with non-smoking. Beds need replacing but room was clean. Wifi not working properly and after desk clerk made me come to front desk she could not help... More

When you check into a Motel, the primary purpose is a good nights sleep. When the mattress is a metal edged hammock, forget it. This hotel, or possible this room could be very pleasant if the management would spend a few dollars and upgrade their beds. Otherwise, the facility was as good as most.

Had to stay here due to CA 58 being closed for a mudslide and horrendous traffic to try to get closer to Bakersfield. It's an older hotel but the rooms have been remodeled. Front desk is helpful. The rooms are clean and up to date. The ac is loud. It smells like people have smoked in the room. I don't... More

After much research, we are very pleased with our choice of hotel in Tehachapi. Our room was down the back away from the main road, but it's not a noisy town anyway. Some would disagree due to the freight trains passing through during the night, but we love trains! If you do too, visit the Tehachapi Loop for sure! The... More

Slept well, even with the trains going by in the distance. The wall fan helps, creating white noise, which I actually like. We stay here because they allow pets, which the BW next door does not. Beds are comfy. Typical continental breakfast (don't forget to tip the breakfast helpers a buck or two, plus the maids about $5 ). The... More

Stay next door at other Best Western. This motel is run down but clean. Breakfast sub par (not hot). King suite had a queen bed despite insistence of the smug day manager. I didn't want to continue the argument.

Quaint little town, ate at Kelsy's Cafe (like stepping into the 50's), small general stores. Went to the Dog House Saloon, it was fabulous--live band, mellow group of all ages, pool, darts, and the best part not one curse word. They just opened a motorcycle accessory and apparel store next to the Dog House. Great prices, beautiful leather purses, jackets,... More
