This is my second visit to Holiday House, and it is comfortable, relaxed, and PET FRIENDLY in the truest sense. Alvina is lovely, accommodating and kind. The view cannot be beat, right on the lake with paddle boarding, kayaking, windsurfing available. I feel comfortable and as if it is my private slice of heaven. Holiday House is centrally located to... More

This is a tough place to review. The view was amazing, the location is great, plenty of space, nice amenities (kitchenette, beach/lake access). That was the good. This place is not luxury or posh. It was dated and beat up. there was no air conditioning, no fans, and there weren't screens on the windows. The weather was awesome, so the... More

We stayed at the Holiday House around New Year’s Eve in the very spacious lakefront suite, in German we would call it “gemuetlich” (cozy?) The view is overwhelming and we could even sit outside in front of our lakefront suite, daydream and listen to the waves touching the shore. This was our second visit from Germany. We love the North... More

This place is amazing! I was a little worried after reading some reviews. My husband and I weren't quite sure what to expect. Our expectations were far exceeded. Alvina is the sweetest lady. She allowed us to choose our room and we went with #5 on the first floor. The view is out of this world. You are literally a... More

I CONTINUE to STAY at the FABULOUS Holiday House in Tahoe Vista California because it is the ONLY place to STAY !!!!!! I just recently spent another 10 days there. The views are breath taking and the atmosphere is perfect to just get away from it all. The hostess, Alvina Patterson is phenomenal, with her bend over backwards accommodating ways... More

I had such a wonderful stay at Holiday House - from May 30 through June 5, 2013. I enjoyed so much the charming apartment, all wooden walls, so cosy, so comfortable and clean. I loved it. The view of Lake Tahoe on to the snowy mountains of Sierra Nevada is absolutely breathtaking, a little rest on the balcony nearly hanging... More

No couch, 3 seats that are so old barely cushion left. Cob webs in window area No top sheet on bed, just a comforter Shower door doesn't close Light socket in bedside lamp falling over Outside deck has nail heads popping up everywhere. Walls and ceiling are paper thin so you hear every foot step. Amazing view, that is the... More

This was the second time we have stayed at the Holiday House. The first time was this past May and just recent (returning today). The Holiday House offers some very unique accommodations, dogs are completely welcomed, the setting with views of almost the entire lake/mountains, and an incredible Innkeeper. It is a rustic environment that makes you feel at home.... More

My husband and I only stayed at the Holiday House for one night. The view is totally outstanding with a nice decking area to sit out on. We ate lunch next door at Captain John's which is set out on decking with again, fantastic views and dinner a little further on at the SteakHouse which was good quality and value.... More

This is one of the few hotels that actually face the lake - a real jewel with only 6 suites. It has beautiful views - could not get enough of the scenery through the huge windows. The kitchenette was perfect for breakfast and lunch preparation and even a simple dinner - small refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, small cooktop and... More
