The best place there is to just relax stress free. Market is close (not walking distance) as are some really good restaurants. Unbeatable view of the lake and the resort has plenty of water toys for your use. Although it's an older resort it is well maintained. The units are being remodeled one at a time and although its not... More

Great location-nice beach, but resort is in bad shape. Our unit felt like 5th grade summer camp. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY carpet. It obviously hasn't been cleaned since ski season (2012?) We asked the next day about changing to another unit and we were told they were full. Not true. There have been almost no cars all week on the mountain side,... More

We have just spent a week at Tahoe Sands with friends who are Timeshare owners. Our first impressions were that the carpets needed renewing and the curtains as well were not in good condition, but the bathrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The electric hob rings did not work but to be fair they sent someone in the... More

Tahoe Sands offers a family friendly, relaxed resort in a good location by the lake. The accommodation is the real downside being well overdue for a remodel. We stayed in the old motel block. The carpet and curtains desperately needed changing. The accommodation is due an update but no timescales. Even with the problems we enjoyed our stay. In summary... More

My family and I stayed at Tahoe Sands in early August 2014. It was delightful. Cute little cabins on the Mountain side (across street from Lake). There are rooms/cabins on the lakeside but probably harder to get. It was cozy and had just what we needed - small kitchen, bath, one bedroom - the kids slept in the living room... More

i am a timeshare owner of this place, and my family of four has been going to this "resort" for about 20 years. when going to this place, you really need to be realistic about your expectations. it is a 2-3 star physical plant with a 5 star location. the best thing about it is its location. the beach is... We enjoyed our stay at this resort. Though we were not part of the timeshare we were not treated as second class citizens. The staff were great and the resort offered everything imaginable from direct access to a private beach, barbeques with covered dining, a basketball court, horseshoes, free movie rentals and more.

The location of this property is ideal. There is a huge, sandy beach that is about a 10 minute walk from end to end. The property is about a 40 minute walk to Kings Beach (most of it on the beach, but about 10 minutes from Tahoe Vista Recreation Area to Moon Dunes beach along the road). The resort offers... More

This resort has the best beach--very shallow and warm water. It is kid friendly and safe, as the kids have to walk over 100 yards out to have the water past their belly button. The outdoor amenities are great--basketball, sand volleyball, Boccie ball, horseshoes, etc. Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards can be rented right on the beach. There are movies... More

I stayed at the Tahoe Sands for 5 nights in an upstairs studio. The resort is older and in need of upgrades. I gave it four stars mainly due to the property location. The resort had a Murphy bed that wasn't very comfy but I've slept on worse. Like I said it needs update but was clean and had everything... More
