Especially given the current economy for $450.00 a night one would expect somewhat of a clean and well furnished room, not so much at the Granlibakken. Granted we were in a 3 bedroom townhouse however the guestrooms were very small (pick you spot in the room as two people cannot pass each other), our sink was rusted, the bathtub had... more

I stayed here for two nights while attending a conference in May. I had a standard room with two queen beds at the top of the hill. The view was nice, but if you aren't driving up to the room from the main building, the walk is not for those who are not fit. The bathroom was a decent size... more

Our family of 5 stayed for 6 days at Granlibakken. We enjoyed the accomodations, food, service and staff. Our first day we took ski and snowboarding lessons at Granlibakken. The following days we ventured out to other nearby ski resorts and enjoyed ourselves. We found Granlibakken a great place to retire to at the end of the day and soak... more

I stayed at the Granlibakken for a conference. The location is OK- about 1.5 miles from Tahoe City center. What struck me most about the Granlibakken Resort is that it is not a resort. At least not by the typical "resort" definition. There is no restaurant, although they can provide meals to conferences. There is no bar, although I could... more

I came here for a conference and thus had to pay the standard rate of $220 per night, which included all meals, although they were generally not that great. The rooms need serious updating. Despite the description, my room (which was a single bedroom in a townhome that also had an open loft sleeping area occupied by a stranger) lacked... more

If you are looking for privacy in the beauty of Tahoe near the lake. . .this place is for you. I can't say enough for the helpful staff who were kind, professional, prompt, and always went beyond. We are excited about their winter special . . a phenomenal breakfast, room, and ski lift ticket all for only $ 109 .... more

I was here for some meetings in April. Granlibakken is a very basic place to stay so if you just want a place to sleep for when you ski it's great, but if you want some amenities, don't stay here. The people who run the place are very nice. more

I was told by a friend of mine about Granlibakken because his dad stayed there many times for skiing in Tahoe. My requirements for a hotel was that it had to have a pool and hot tub for after skiing and for my kids who like to swim. This resort had both and it was outdoors. That worked perfectly. I... more

My wife & I came down from Oregon to join our son & his girlfriend for two days of skiing in the Tahoe area. We initially checked into a non-smoking unit only to be subjected to clouds of cigarette smoke funneling in from the neighboring (nonsmoking) condo. The management allowed us to shift to another unit at 10:30 pm, for... more

We found Granlibakken to be exactly what we were looking for in this particular trip to Tahoe. 1. Great access to skiing 2. Great access to a snow play area 3. Uncrowded 4. Good environment for families/kids we loved the snow play hill and spend most of our first day saucering down the slopes with the kids. Our room (basic... more
