I've stayed here at two different occasions. The first was as a participant in a business-related retreat four years ago. The second was for a family reunion with over 30 people. We stayed at the Chalet over the 4th of July. As others have said the rooms are spartan (the lack of air conditioning was a real challenge one night). For $110.00 a night (FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!), this is the best kept secret in Tahoe. 2 miles at the end of a mountain road, SAC sits on a bluff overlooking Alpine meadow Ski Resorts runs.
