First off, this is a motel like most of the other hotels along the north side of the lake. Secondly, it is not located along the waterfront. It is located across the road on the other side. That said, you get a beautiful view of the lake if you take an upstairs room. Now, the rest of the story: 1.For... More

I wanted to give The Pepper Tree a higher review, I really did, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. Let's start with the positive. The location of the motel is great. (It is NOT a bed and breakfast). It is centrally located within walking distance from shops and restaurants. We were located on the sixth floor and we... More

We had a room on the 4th floor. The amenities in the room and at the hotel are great. In the room, we had 2 robes, coffee grinder, microwave, fridge and a spa tub in the bathroom. Even the bath products are nice. The breakfast had a lot of options and was tasty. I feel the front desk man at... More

We were on the sixth floor but there's an elevator so no problem there. The view of the Lake was great and the breakfast was pretty good. The place does not have air con (it was in the high 70s) so we had to use a fan. There was quite a bit of noise from Bikers gathering outside the hotel... More

Hi there Jaguar7777- Thank you for taking the time to write an honest review. It sounds like (all-in-all) you were pleased with your stay. Your honest comments allow us to pay attention to details often missed. Stayed at a dive in So. Lake Tahoe for top dollar but came across Pepper Tree in the next night. The terrific lady at the desk could not have been more friendly. I only hope I have her name right.... believe it was Karen. She gave us a room with a great view of the lake. Room was comfortable and... More

Hi Kandlmartin- We are Marika & Lee (the Innkeepers) and deeply appreciate that you took the time to write such a wonderful review. We are still fighting the image left by the old management. Many people are surprised at the differences between North & South Lake Tahoe. We have learned that Tahoe City is much less commercial and far more... More

Waking distance to numerous yummy restaurants, cute shops and the beautiful beach/ park. We were able to park our Harleys in the covered garage. Rooms were clean, average and comfortable. More

Checked in on 8/23 and out 8/25...check in was really great as the Manager, Marika, was very friendly and professional and was able to upgrade us to a view room on the 3rd floor:) Room was small, but clean and the bed comfortable. Linens nice and towels fluffy. Close to everything...lots of walking, little driving. Pool was really nice. More

Pillows were rock hard and the ceiling wall is paper thin, the person above us must have done a full work out at 6:30am. Also note that 2 rooms on the groud floor are marked as property of AT&T with all kinds of warnings on the doors. It's seems odd to me to have a cell tower within a hotel... More

Hi Ace 2649- Thank you for taking time to post your honest review. I see you chose to stay in the 2-Story building which is wood frame. It is true that when guests above you choose to stomp around, it can be disturbing and we are sorry for that. May I suggest the next time you stay, request a room... More

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times when we went to Tahoe, and it always were a good place to stay. The room is not very large and it doesn't have a lot of amenities, but it is a nice place to stay, not expensive and has great lake view, especially in the upper level rooms. It's also... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Pepper Tree Inn. When we booked the room on the Internet, we chose one of the least expensive options, so while the room was a little small, we consciously selected value over luxury. I appreciated this option! With that said, it was a comfortable room, beautifully decorated in a "lake cabin" motif, with... More
