We stayed here n our honeymoon in 2002 and again with our kids in 2014. Great base for exploring Tahoe. Rustic, homely rooms. Some are currently being renovated. Fab views. Was very quiet but we were out of season (best time to go?). And a bottle of champagne in our room :)

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Rooms were clean and comfortable with nice linens (duvets) and thick while towels. The breakfast was fantastic every morning with fritattas, a nice assortment of baked goods (bagels, muffins, scones, toast), fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt, etc. From 3 - 6 in the afternoons they put out cookies and tea and... We travel to Tahoe VERY often (at least once a month on average year round) and have visited Sunnyside's Restaurant at all seasons for many, many years. For a variety of reasons, we needed a place to stay with our dog different than our usual spot. We were thrilled that Sunnnyside has dog designated rooms at "relatively" reasonable rates. There... Fellow skiers had raved about this place for days...it was the in place to toast the sun going down while looking out at the lake. For starters, the parking was totally inadequate and we had to park on a very busy highway. The menu was good and the wine list intimidating in terms of breadth and price. Maybe we were... More

The food was good and the views were awesome. The weather wasn't the greatest while we were there, but still have great views of the lake. The staff at restaurant was friendly and attentive. Celebrated a birthday there and the dessert was amazing.

This was a great spot to spend a long weekend. The rooms are really great and the restaurant is awesome. There are a lot of hikes and water activities steps away from the hotel. They offer complementary breakfast which is a great spread for all taste buds. Good crowd at the bar and amazing hotel staff! Very accommodating to their... More

The restaurant: I had a great dinner here. Our waitress was busy - she forgot our drink orders twice - but I appreciated that she stopped by often and ensured we were enjoying our meal. The food is absolutely wonderful. (Note: The only portion of the meal I wasn't crazy about was the Ahi Tuna "Fish and Chips." The Ahi... More

Normally we stay slopeside in ski in/out lodgings with a balcony on the slope, however this time some friends were staying here so we stayed here too. The cabin was sizeable and very comfortable. The restaurant is terrfic with attentive staff and mouthwatering dishes. The wines matched perfectly and the place is clearly a haunt for the local estate owners.... More

We had planned a vacation to California and had reservations for Yosemite during the first week of Oct 2013. The day before we were supposed to arrive,Yosemite was closed because of the gov't shut down. We had to scramble to find an alternate spot for our vacation at the last minute. (We were traveling from Michigan). We saw Sunnside on-line... More
