Add mine to the chorus of people singing the praises of Sunnyside. We just returned from 6 nights there, celebrating our wedding anniversary. The staff were lovely, always eager to please. The dining was great in both restaurants, and the views were divine. We never had trouble parking even though a couple of nights were especially popular because of dining... More

Where do I begin??? We never chose this place but ended up shelling 400 bucks on this noisy hell hole because our group decided to stay here. We can in around 5 with kids luggage and after 4 hours in snow and 4 of driving but then how can we expect a parking spot in the hotel!!!!! Dare we think... More

We went to Tahoe for a quick weekend in July to escape the Los Angeles rat race. Talk about the perfect place for a relaxing getaway! We found Sunnyside on tripadvisor and booked because of the location (Tahoe city) and reviews. As opposed to the North side of the lake where all of the casinos are (30 minute-ish, drive if... More

We visited on a very windy day so the outside seating areas were closed, but the view was still beautiful. We went for the Hula Pie on the last day they were serving lunch for the season. Fish tacos and cheddar burger were ok. But the Corn and Crab Chowder was sublime. Really delicious. Hula pie is a big enough... More

We visited here after some local recommendations. I had an incredibly tasty corn and shrimp chowder and wished it were an endless bowl! My husband ordered the scallops which were tasty and a beautiful plate. Would have given a higher rating if our server were in a better mood!

We did not stay at Sunnyside Lodge only because all the days of our vacation in Tahoe were not available. The deck is large and super convenient in the little West Shore community. My group very much enjoyed the Heirloom Tomato Salad and Pork Tacos at lunch. Later we returned for drinks and the sunset before having dinner in Tahoe... More

We were visiting South Lake Tahoe for Father's Day weekend and my wife surprised me with a dinner at the Sunnyside Restaurant. It's beautiful, right at lake-side. The service was exceptional. The food was rich and wonderful, beautifully prepared. I want to make this an annual excursion!

We stayed for 3 nights at the start of September. We had a partial lake view room which had a beautiful view. Very cute lodge and real family feel to it. The restaurant and bar food was really good. The Sunday was labour day weekend and so the place was busy and had a real buzz about it. The room... More

Sunnyside has an important place in our family lore as my Mom and Dad met there in 1953 when my Dad was a summer waiter. Our weekend visit in Sept was amazing. The charm of Lodge and beauty of lake from either their patio deck or from our rooms was breathtaking. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We ate... More

Owning a home in Tahoe I have been at Sunnyside 40x / 30 years and I have seen the ups and downs of this restaurant currently the food quality is substandard. the staff is friendly and helpful and the view is amazing which overrides the lack of flavor and quality of their menu. Stay on the bar side and order... More
