After reading the reviews, we were hesitant to stay here but like the others, it was the last room available for the Fourth of July. We overpaid at $169plus tax. The place is worn and I would compare it to staying with your grandmother who never had the money to upgrade her home. The bathroom was very clean and had... More

Looks can be decieving. Cute cottage Inn ( on the outside) with great proximity to the state beach. one step in the room, and you instantly know something is very wrong. No basic cleaning rules are applied here. Ruuuuuuun!

The Summerland Inn was the only place available when we came to visit family for Christmas, and relatives had reserved a room for us for two nights. They had never been to the inn. If they had only known.... The outside is quaint and Victorian. Yet, when you open the front something in you tells you to turn around and... More

My family and I ended up in this inn for two nights whilst visiting family because there wasn't really anywhere else available. It looked cute from the outside, but once you enter the inn the smell of musty old furniture is overwhelming and everything is out dated and dirty. It honestly looks as though they found this house with all... More

Needed a room for the night last weekend. The area was pretty booked. Reserved this place for $160. $176 after tax. Get there... "meh, pretty kitch, next to the freeway, but... it's fine I guess." ... 20 minutes later, the 40lb mirror falls off the wall randomly (we were standing at the other side of the room). Turns out it... This place is okay if you're just there for a brief day or two, preferably an overnighter. Very few amenities and no elevator to the second floor. There's a coffee pot in the very small lobby. Reminds me more of a stay with family or a friends house. If you spook (ghosts) easily, this is probably not the place for... More

We had been traveling all day, hubby wanted to wing it (not my preference at all) whilst looking for happening surf spots. We reach Capenteria at 7.00 and after checking what seemed the best option for us Best Western (booked out $140ish a night) and being thoroughly scared by the Casa De Sol ($100 a night for a room that... Do not stay at the Summerland Inn - it was dirty and old the rooms are packed with mismatched furniture. It was horrible - if there was anyother place to stay I would have gone there but all of Santa Barbara & Carpinteria were sold out - visit the local bar and they will warn you...to late for me...if the... Scar? Scab? No, this is the swollen, festering, oozing wound upon the beautifully quaint face of Summerland. This is a story of warning. Heed it, please! I've never left a review on TA, mainly bc my job involves writing. & well after a trip, typing out something just feels 2 much like work. But the summer land inn drove me... More
