This place oozes with character. Its a lodge next to the Stanislaus river in the mountains. It is surrounded by big beautiful trees. It is just 1 mile away from Pinecrest Lake. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The views are spectacular and there is even a restaurant and bar on the property. My family and I absolutely loved it.

My wife and I just spent 2 days at the Strawberry Inn and we loved it! It's really quaint with nice rooms along the river. We slept great with the river sound in the background. There is great hiking around the area, especially near Pinecrest Lake which is like 5 minutes away. Larry the manager and all of the staff... More

Lousy food -- the rice had the appearance and consistency of a hockey puck and the veggies were so overcooked that they tasted like freeze-dried camping food ... before rehydration. Lousy wifi -- it used to be free. They misleadingly promote as though it's free. But then you find out it costs $7 per day per device. And the performance... More

We were working the Rim Fire and really wanted a good place to stay and eat. Wow , what a nice clean place to stay. The food was super, try the burgers and be ready to eat. The onion rings or the fries are piled high . You can sit at the bar and eat or sit by a window... More

This is a clean, small inn at a great location on the river, near Pinecrest/Strawberry Lake. Nice host and good size rooms. Price is fair. Bar and restaurant on site. Store across the street. We stay there once or twice a year. They could use a TV upgrade to flat screens (small 19-20" in our room) but you don't use... More

Been here many times always around 4th of July. Just very basic rooms. Only amenity is the view from the back rooms that look out onto the river. Rated poor because of the beds, otherwise good. Beware of the beds. Mattresses are old and slope to sides. There are other places to stay, but if all you want is a... More

I agree with the reviews that mentioned the rustic charm of the lodge itself. The rooms were quaint, nothing fancy but comfortable. The restaurant looked nice but the food was not so great. The salad was average at best, the pulled pork a little dry and the Lemon Drop Martini hard to drink. Beautiful mountain surroundings but not sure if... More

Family stayed at the lodge for the weekend. Very old lodge - pretty rundown but some old charm. Rooms are rustic! Staff are nice and food is ok. Best thing about the lodge is the people watching at the bar and the fact that you are on the American River.

This is a restaurant review, didn't stay at the Inn..we just stopped for a quick bite to eat on the way home. The bar area looked nice enough with a cabin type atmosphere, but if u have kids you're shuffled off to a long room in the back with a so-so view through dirty windows, ugly art, a plethora of tshirts... Spent two nights in this lovely setting. With the windows open you can hear the S. Fork of the Stanislaus River rushing by. As mentioned by others, proximity to Pinecrest receration area makes it very attractive. And the price makes it a best bargain!
