Our family of three had an excellent two night stay at the Bissell House while visiting friends in the Pasadena area. Breakfast was great, a spacious traditional style third floor room, and a bonus (smallish) swimming pool completed the great stay. Thanks to Julie - the inn keeper!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed 5 nights at the historic Bissell House and we could not have been more pleased with our stay. The grounds and home were STUNNING. Perfect place for a romantic and relaxing getaway. The innkeepers were welcoming and very friendly. The breakfasts and afternoon treat- delectable! The area was such a nice little town, with... Beautiful historic home & furnishings in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods. Very interesting group of people to chat with over a lovely breakfast in the dining room. I was there during So Cal triple digit heat wave & the great air-conditioning worked great :) I love walking in this neighborhood & went to a lovely musical evening in a... More

The hosts made us feel like we were welcome guests in their home as opposed to bothersome lodgers. We were given first class service at every juncture. The facility was absolutely charming and the food was first rate. The location is fantastic. What more could you want?

I was travelling by myself to visit my daughter who lives nearby. I had the smallest/least expensive room and it was perfect! Breakfast was perfection on the days I had breakfast. The other days I just informed the host I would not be there and she supplied me with a more than adequate "continental" breakfast. A few times my daughter,... More

Right up the street from Norton Simon, a few miles from Huntington Gardens and Library, and away from the crowds of LA. Perfect spot for a quiet weekend. Breakfasts were prepared with thought and care. Rooms were spacious, although the plumbing was a bit challenging until you got used to it. We did not spend much time here, but conversation... More

What a pleasant surprise this place was. The room was very nice and the breakfasts each morning were outstanding. Julie was a delightful person and made time to talk to us about the place and the area. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area.

If you are looking for some of the charm of historic Pasadena, then this is the place. The building is a classic Victorian mansion, built for the Bissell family (of carpet sweeper fame), with spacious common rooms and delightful individual bedrooms. It is one of the few remaining grand homes on what once was "Million Dollar Row." The breakfasts each... More

We always stay at The Bissell House when visiting relatives in Southern California. I grew up in So. Pasadena and was never aware of this beautiful house since the lush grounds hide it from sight of the streets. I discovered it when I was looking for B and Bs in the area and it is a treasure! The owners needed... More
