I was on a wine your from Sam Francisco and the your stopped at Sonoma square for lunch. I went straight to Swiss hotel at the recommendation from our guide. I sat at the bar and the bartender and his wife were such a pleasure! Talking with them was the highlight of the meal. The butternut squash ravioli and number... More

Lovely small hotel.. Only 5 rooms. Very quaint, clean, comfortable. Nice second floor porch in which to rest and watch the world go by. Great old bar off of lobby and the dining room has nice ambiance with a beautiful outdoor seating area . We found all the staff very helpfull and welcoming. If you are lucky enough to get... More

This place is on the historic register of buildings. it was built around 1905, a winery/home and then hotel. That is the charm of the place, it leans a little, squeaks when you walk around on it, and speaks volume's about its history. So don't be expecting the Hilton. Every thing in the place works and it is a great... More

We chose the Swiss Hotel for dinner during our stay in Sonoma. It is located directly on the main plaza in an historic hotel with five rooms. We were seated on the back patio at a rear table, but were soon asked to move since the table had been previously reserved. We didn't mind at all, but were rewarded with... More

I found this to be on the cheaper side of the hotels I was looking at in Sonoma. it is more of an 'Inn' but not the expensive pricing of an Inn. The rooms are very tidy, had a nice romantic feel to it and we found the Queen room to be large, with TV, refrigerator, chairs and table. Complimentary... More

If you live in California or just traveling in California go to the city of Sonoma and enjoy a great time. A fantastic place indeed. Nice shops, restaurants, and the Swiss hotel located right in the heart of town. I stayed at this hotel for 2 days and had the nicest experience. The staff was fun and helpful. The service... More

Horrible in every way. Everything you can think of for a horrible hotel experience is reality at the swiss. I'll save you the time of reading but literally every aspect that a person would expect in a decent hotel/B&B is the bottom of the barrel here right down to the surly front desk woman (2 young girls were pleasant). Stay... More

I was very nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised after checking into this hotel. Yes, the floor is sloped because it is a very old hotel but this hotel was spotless (which is most important to me). Yes it is directly above a restaurant and bar, but this was not a problem at... My wife and I were there in early December for lunch. The prices were reasonable and the food was great. The hostess was a tad snooty, but we wound up eating in the bar which was a good move. Service was very attentive and the servers were pleasant.

This hotel gets extra points because of its age and history, but do not expect modern luxury. There are four large rooms (suites, actually) on the second floor of this two story building. The restaurant takes up the first floor. The bedroom floors slope and all the furnishings are shabby without the chic. The refrigerator in our room didn't work... More
