we went just to have a drink at the Swiss hotel. Its a cool place with a cool trendy vibe. It was early, we did NOT have reservations, this was just a "walk in". The hostess told us we could have a table if we are done within the hour, because thats when their "reservations come in. That was totally... More

We ate at the hotel, did not stay there. The historic building was cool to be in. The food was good and plated beautifully. One ordered chicken park with pesto linguine for the dude. It was very good. The Rosemary chicken was good as well with perfectly prepared vegetables( green beans and broccoli I skipped the potato). So many times... More

Not knowing much about Sonoma Square before our visit, we were so excited when we arrived and found the Swiss Hotel right in the middle of the bustling town. We checked into one of the Queen rooms, which had an attached sitting room, which was very comfortable. The room itself was very straightforward, with a small TV, small mini-fridge, and... More

We have had a great stay in the gem of a hotel, great staff & quaint room. Balcony view of square is awesome & lovely continental breakfast. Free parking at back of hotel( 3 hour limit on square) easy walking distance to lots of great eateries & bars. We will definitely be coming back

Swiss Hotel is on the main plaza of Sonoma, above a great bar, restaurant and street side terrace. The glass doors into the lobby (that's also part of the bar) next to the flight of stairs up to the rooms tells you all you need to know. It's cozy, dotted with wonderful historic photos of San Francisco and surroundings from... More

We were in Sonoma for a wedding. This was the least expensive hotel that we could find. The rooms are cute. (We saw three of the five rooms at the hotel.) The one 'downside' of our stay was the air conditioning. As you may be aware Sonoma is hot during the day and cool (or cold) at night. When we... More

The Swiss Hotel is very old. It isn't fancy but that is what I like. It is comfortable and at ease. We have stayed in two different rooms and they are both charmingly furnished and quite comfortable. I do recommend staying in one of the rooms away from the street if you are a light sleeper. The bar noise can... More

It's great to spend a weekend in Sonoma wine tasting and not empty your wallet. We chose the Swiss Hotel because it has preserved its authentic feel .. rather than a generic upgrade. The hotel must have been here since the 1800's .. creaky wooden floors and all. Super nice and helpful receptionist .. we had a king room (has... More

We were told when I booked that the rooms were on the second floor over a bar. I actually did not have any trouble falling asleep. I did wake a little after midnight and could hear voices. It was not obnoxious, but it was noticeable. We had room 4 which is large and has French doors to the front balcony... More

When we booked the hotel the receptionist kindly advised us that the rooms were all over a bar/restaurant and therefore the noise might be an issue. It was very thoughtful of the management to warn us in advance, but we didn't find any troubling noise even though our room was directly over the outside bar area. Our charming room was... More
