The grounds were beautiful, and while the hotel is on the outskirts of Sonoma, it is easy enough to get to the plaza or a multitude of local wineries. We upgraded to a bungalow ($50/nt), and it was nice for the additional privacy, but I do not know if it would make a huge difference if you are not spending... More

Staying at the Lodge at Sonoma made our Sonoma weekend getaway 200 times better!!! We were upgraded to a full-size cottage upon check-in and received 5 star service for the rest of our stay. The shuttle zips you into town all day and night, the concierge was so helpful in booking us a wine shuttle and dinner reservations, and the... More

I came here for a meeting, but wished I came here for vacation instead. Quite a nice place. Check out their free wine education, which was enlightening to say the least :-) The internet speeds are not great ... although I wish I wasn't here for business.

I used to stay at this hotel for business purposes regularly a few years ago. Recently I stayed for leisure purposes with a bunch of girlfriends. The quality is still exceptional. We stayed in a beautiful cottage room with a fireplace and a sitting area. It felt like a small luxury studio apartment and we loved it! Room service was... More

Just got back from a girlfriend getaway in Sonoma. I liked this hotel for many reasons. When we arrived, we were upgraded from a room to a cottage -- an excellent value at $170/night. The cottage was roomy with a pitched ceiling. The hotel itself was nice and well kept. The location was great and just a short drive to... More

Stayed at the Lodge for the first time while celebrating our "mini-moon". Both my wife and I are wine lovers and are equal opportunists when is comes to celebrating wine from Napa and Sonoma Valley. So I chose the Lodge due to its near perfect central location to both areas. Check in was quick as it was a Monday, and... More

My wife and I spent Valentines weekend at the Lodge in Sonoma. The front desk service was superior and they were able to accomodate our request for a King bed although I could only book the reservation with two twin beds. We had a choice of staying in the lodge or one of the guest cottages, we chose the lodge... More

My boyfriend and I spent two nights at the Lodge at Sonoma and were delighted at just how lovely this place is. Although part of the Marriott chain, this hotel feels anything but standard. The grounds are tidy, well kept, and quite expansive, featuring a large pool and hot tub area, a main house with beautiful huge windows and large... More

Upon check in at The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a cottage!! It was fantastic, very spacious with a small table with chairs, a couch in a sitting room area with a coffee table, large swivel flat screen TV, fireplace and fridge hidden in a tv console. Beautiful bathroom... More

My wife and I stayed here for New Year's Eve 2009. We stayed here for the 2008 celebration also. We checked in early evening, requested a king-room, received a complimentary upgrade to a cottage room upon request. They only had two double bed cottage rooms, but that was ok with us. Staff and concierge was very courteous and helpful. The... More
