Went to sunday bunch, they have renovated the front lobby and dinning area. Food was good, service good and wonder views. Prices a little on the high side but not bad. We are going to try the rooms for a weekend and explore hiking

we had a reservation for lodging for new years eve - but on the day of, as we drove to the lodge, we got the call that they had a water pipe break and were unable to fix it. So they had to close the lodge. Too bad, as we were looking forward to it. However, prior to driving there... More

This was our first time at the Rainbow Lodge, which we booked after seeing it in Sunset Magazine. It's under new ownership and everyone who works there seems like they're working really hard. It has the feel of a family-run operation. We were there the week after Christmas and the staff seemed flustered by the number of guests and phone... More

When my husband and I heard the lodge was under new ownership we were thrilled. We had our honeymoon at the lodge and returned every year for our anniversary until it fell into disrepair. We drove up and actually had a nice conversation with the new owner. He informed us he was taking down all the "old" posters and paintings... More

This is our 3rd at the Rainbow Lodge over the years. Hope the new owners can make a go of it because we love staying there while skiing at Royal Gorge. They were clearly having issues with reservations and in the restaurant but overall everything worked out great for us. Originally had us booked in a room with bunk beds... More

We pulled off hwy 80 just after a busy weekend in Carson City I pulled off to avoid a Traffic Jam .I was extremely tired and needed to rest. The owner had no rooms avail due to a lack of employees and unforeseen circumstances. He gathered his family and made up a room for us while we enjoyed a cocktail... More

Cozy historic setting. Under new management - doing all the right things. We spent a mini-reunion weekend there with a group of about 20. We partied hard and half the staff and some stray Burners joined us. Great setting on the Yuba River.

Great little place to stop and have a few drinks on the way to Reno. Kind of a throwback to the old log cabins. Will definitely come here again. Haven't had a chance to try any of the food yet, but there are always people eating when I have been there.

What more could you expect or ask for? This is my secret getaway if traffic on Interstate Eighty is stalled by winter weather conditions or the frequent accidents as skiers return from Tahoe. I'm only been as far as the bar, and the dinning room. Not as an overnight guest. Change in ownership has not affected me, I've always found... More
