Great location to just hang out by the Yuba river or as a base camp for exploration of the spectacular Sierra Buttes, lakes region, Sierra Valley, etc. Owners are friendly, helpful and can be very humorous. Cabins are cozy but spacious, and well furnished. Prices are very competitive with other cabin-based "resorts" in the area. Very dog friendly as others... More

There were 2 small families on a long weekend vacation with 3 dogs, 2 large and 1 medium size. We had plenty of room to move around and private spaces as well. There are at least a dozen cabins on the outskirts of this small rustic town to suit almost any taste and need. Ours was a 2 bdrm one... More

We stayed at the Yuba River Inn the 3rd week of September that is a really good time of year to go if you like hiking. The weather went up to a high of mid 70's and there were very few bugs. The YRI is a great place to stay if you are looking for a rustic cabin-type of place... More

We stayed in the Madrone cabin October 12-14, 2013 for 2nights. It was super clean, the key was in the door when we arrived, and all appliances worked well. This cabin had 1 double bed and 2 twin beds, and kitchen, all in 1 L-shaped room without dividers for privacy. Towels were provided for 4 people and there were 2... More

We had a great and relaxing five night stay here. It was made extra nice with great hospitality of the owner Rick. He gave us a great map that we used to find some awesome and memorable hikes, including the wonderful Sierra Buttes Lookout hike. We stayed in the Wild Plum cabin that had a nice view of the woods... We've been staying here for years and we drive all the way from Mission Viejo, CA (565 miles). It's a bonus for us that they have wi-fi on the main deck since we are both small business owners. My hubby has to have his TV at bedtime and they have satellite with movies so "woohoo" for that. I could live... More

I just spent 5-nights at the Yuba River Inn with my large family (5-kids, 1- son in law, 1-grandson and several guests came and went). We had 3-cabins amongst us and had plenty of space and enjoyed the basic comforts of home. My daughter and son-in-law had gone the previous 2-years and encouraged us to bring the entire family up... A must do for anyone who loves hiking, fishing, biking, 4 wheeling or just relaxing in the mountains with out the crowds! Nice cabins and fabulous grounds. Lots of wildlife to enjoy and river access. Great little town a couple blocks away for dining after a fun day in the great outdoors. Many beautiful lakes very close by.

Growing up in the Sierra foothills I know my Gold Mininng Towns. I recently stayed at the Yuba River Inn with a group of friends and it was awesome. Sierra City has a classic small (and I do mean small) town feel and The Yuba River Inn extends that type of hospitality to its guests. The cabins were clean and... More

We would have easily rated this place a 5 star. Great place to get away from it all and if you have a dog, so far, we have not had a better place to stay. The cabin was clean and had all necessities along with the privacy, beautiful surroundings and a backyard for the puppy...everything we were looking for. The... More
