This review is for some other High Country Inn, we are located in Sierra City Ca. We did not have any guests on the date the review is for and we do not allow pets at our Inn. All of our rooms have views of the North Fork of the Yuba River and look at our fish pond and the... More

We had been to High Country Inn a number of years ago and loved it! My wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary and renewal of vows 2nd honeymoon at High Country Inn over the weekend! As with our previous stay, the stay was fabulous. The Inn is situated at the base of one of my favorite places on... More

Highway 49 in northern California is high altitude, remote and rugged. For the traveler, there doesn't appear to be many good options for food or lodging. The High Country Inn was a welcome surprise. Although a small property with only four rooms, each was spacious, immaculate and extremely well-furnished. Breakfast was included with the room, and it was also perfect.... More

Thank you for your recent stay with us here at HCI. We always appreciate our guests who take to time to write a review of our inn. The weather has change a lot since you visited us, as today we had our 1st measurable snow fall which is always wonderful to see from inside the Inn with a roaring fire... More

We have stayed many times before at this marvelous place, and this time we wanted our good friends to enjoy the experience. The views from the room and the Inn of the Sierra Buttes are spectacular. The accommodations are top notch, and the breakfasts are delicious. Our host has always given us excellent ideas for where to eat dinner and... More

I was traveling up Highway 49 looking for lunch and had planned to stop here. To say this is off the beaten path is to give it too much credit. It is the ONLY think in the area and appears to be a popular place to stop. Although I knew what I was looking for I almost went right past... More

This review was about the Bassetts Station Café & Store that is directly across HWY 49 and the Gold Lake Road across the street from High Country Inn. We are a bed & Breakfast Inn and we do not even serve lunch, only wonderful gourmet breakfasts for the guests staying with us. The person who wrote this review for Bassetts... More

As soon as we pulled off Hwy 49 and up to the secluded High Country Inn, we knew we'd snatched the brass ring. Here was spectacular mountain scenery and a lovely and tranquil setting, with lovingly-tended gardens and grounds on the South Yuba River. The inn is immaculate and our room was cheerful and well-appointed. Our host, Bob, presented us... More

There are few if any B&Bs that can match the location, decorum, or service of the High Country Inn. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet, and charming place that is beautiful, you have found it. I've stayed there many times over the years and have always loved coming back. The view, the nearby hiking trails, and the superb... More

My husband and I were recently part of a touring bicycling group who stayed with Bob at his wonderful Inn. This Inn is very special in many ways. It is a beautiful setting in the high Country- with colorful flower filled gardens and rolling lawns,a peaceful pond with ducks, glorious views of the Buttes which are especially spectacular at sunrise, fastidiously kept rooms, a two course breakfast that surpasses most Bed and Breakfast Inns with an actual wild bird and...
