I needed to find a place on the spur of the moment and after quickly viewing their photos online I booked a room there. Unfortunately, the photos I saw must have been of their nicer rooms. My room was decorated in Goodwill style furniture and was tiny but clean. The WiFi was too weak so I couldn't use my iPad.... More

I almost want to keep this gem a secret. I was favorably impressed with the cleanliness, amenities, price, and especially the location. The rooms are tiny, but comfortable and quiet. The only problem was the cable TV and WiFi were not operating during my stay. Otherwise, I look forward to another stay at the Palomar.

We stayed here and we loved just how close it was to the beach. It was also a good price. Loved that it was also close to restaurants and coffee shops. The staff was very friendly. Liked the fact that the pier was just a short drive away.

We arriwed 4th of July in the afternoon, late because of GPS misleading. Our "land lady" was wating for us, she was Very Nice and friendly. Our "appartment" had Two rooms with Two big beds. Clean rooms. We were recommended dinner at Zorro's cafe and cantina; an excellent local restaurant where we enjoied dinner and breakfast. Beautiful surrondings. Recommended.

If you are looking for a reasonable priced hotel near the beach this is a good option. We got 3 double rooms for 150 dollars. Rooms were pretty clean and have all you need. There is also a great diner just around the corner. The hotel is run by a very nice family. Note : most hotels in that area... More

Not for everybody, but if you are looking for a basic, good value place to sleep, this is it. The rooms are very small, the fixtures and furnishings are old, but everything was clean and tidy. The staff is welcoming and friendly. It has an old-timey feel and the price can't be beat. The morning traffic on Shell Beach Road... More

I can't believe some of the positive reviews of this hotel. We stayed here one night in early August and it was truly disgusting. The carpet was filthy and sticky. I kept my shoes on until I got into bed. The room hasn't been remodeled since the 1930s, everything is old and worn out. The bathroom tile was chipped and... More

I have to say that this is an experience i don't wanna do over. In general California is expensive compared to almost any state what comes to Hotel/Motel prices. But this place is dangerous and i refer to earlier messages. It had a gas leak and we woke up pretty shaken. Yes the manager did what she was supposed to... More

For about 2 years as a business traveler across the coast of California I have found the most welcoming Motel that I enjoy staying at. This is the Palamar. This is a resort area--high vacation area where prices fluctuate greatly. From 70 per night to in the the mid 200"s plus.. Due to my work schedule I stay here at... More
