Nice hotel for the night, but there are hundreds of flies outside (and occasionally inside) the doors. The breakfast was more than adequate and parking was a breeze. more

It's not a flash hotel, it's a Holiday Inn Express. What do some people expect? It's in a great spot, it's clean, friendly, convenient and pretty cheap. It's fine. I'd go back. Oh and Monterey's charming, even if it was a struggle to find somewhere I could buy a copy of Cannery Row. more

Rooms are small, but clean and updated. Decent breakfast and lots of parking. Given how expensive most rooms in the area are, this is a good alternative, especially if you don't need the space. more

Seaside is not Monterey but it is far cheaper to stay there than in town--about 5-10 minutes by car, depending on traffic. The Holiday Inn Express is an excellent place to stay--friendly, efficient reception, nice rooms (albeit opening onto outside corridors), and generous continental breakfast which is replenished frequently.
