We stayed for 2 nights here, one night using a coupon, and were pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews, that the room was clean, near new bathroom, quiet and the girl at reception was very helpful, unlike the male the next day.. As for plungers in the room, after 4 weeks travelling in the USA we discovered it... more

We booked thisplace trough hotwire. The mOnterey Area is very pricy, and this place was priced right through Hotwire. It's not in the center of Monterey, but close enough. It's a short drive to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. We stayed here one night. From here we went to the Aquarium, Pt. Lobos, 17 Mile Drive (Pebble Beach), and to... more

Was a bit nervous from reviews, but compared to the other low priced motels this seemed better. Booked on their own website and avg price was $50 per night in a great time of year.....I have stayed in dumps...this is not only average but better than average with polite owners and staff...and a clerk who kept checking the airline for... more

Our family got the room through priceline. When we arrived the front desk was busy with computer work so we had to wait. Then after checking in and getting to our room we found we were staying in a closet. The room was so small two people could not walk around eachother in most parts of the room. When we... more

We decided to try a "walk in" booking for our stop in Monterey. We had a coupon book & after reading through them all, we decided on the Sandcastle Inn as it had "been renovated in 2007" After checking in to the Sandcastle Inn, we regretted the decision. The hotel is located in a seedy part of town. The room... more

We spend the weekend in Seaside and spend one night at the Sand Castle Inn. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good (you can make your own fresh waffles). The interior is a little older, but that wasn't important for us. Paking was very convenient, right in front of the door. They have a... more

We rented two rooms here, prices were comparable with other motels in the area, and this one was the only one that still had vacancies... Front desk people were congenial and helpful, BUT the facilities are pretty run down: Old plumbing and flushing problems - we also noticed plungers outside of some of the other rooms the next morning. The... more
