I was scheduling meetings in Marin and downtown San Francisco, so this seemed a natural choice. Now as a rule, I love modern, sleek, minimalist design. But this hotel was so charming, so accommodating, so convenient, and had such a pleasant staff that I was won over. The room I had was small, but not claustrophobically so. The shower was... More

This was an enjoyable stay. Friendly staff. It's conveniently located right next to the ferry dock, very good restaurants nearby, and quiet at night. It's great to have the cafe on the first floor and the rooms on the second floor. Would definitely stay here again.

Only stayed here 2 nights, but I'd go back again in a minute! It's only 16 rooms, and they aren't huge, but beautifully decorated. The owner and everyone at the desk went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is right across from the ferry terminal making it easy to go from San Francisco... More

We spent a night there while visiting our daughter. The location is perfect for shopping, dinning or sightseeing in Sausalito and right next ferry terminal if you want to go over to SF. Parking in the ferry terminal lot is easy and close but costs extra and it paid to the hotel. Our room was small but very nicely done... More

We had started our vacation in downtown San Francisco Union Square) and had seen much of the immediate San Francisco tourist highlights and had spent a couple of weeks touring - wine country, the Pacific coast and the National Parks - and we're looking for something a bit more relaxed to finish our vacation off. Hotel Sausalito provided just that... More

We had the most expensive room overlooking main street and It was a little noisy . We had a room on the side facing the ferry once before and even though the room was small it was quieter. Love that you can walk out the door and be able to walk to the restaurants and shopping ! A little pricier... More

We needed to stay an extra day than planned in San Francisco but our previous hotel was booked for an event. We spent the day as tourists in Sausalito and discovered this cute boutique hotel. It was very cozy and different from the norm. It's close to the water and shops. The staff was very professional.

We stayed 4 nights at the historic Hotel Sausalito and couldn't have been happier with our choice! Our lovely bright room overlooked the bay, had a gorgeous double shower with a stained glass window, comfy bed and French decor. The room and hotel generally was very clean and the owner, his daughter and all the staff were awesome and so... More

With a big convention in San Fran, could not find a "reasonable" priced hotel. This was still expensive ($225/night) and required a 2 night minimum, but better than the alternatives. And it was a great little hotel. We got to know the owner and his daughter as they really do work there. They were very helpful with recommendations and history.... More

We arrived in Saulsalito around 8pm on a Sat. night with no reservations, as is our habit when traveling on the motorcycle — with certain exceptions. There are not a lot of hotels in Sausalito, which surprised me. I lived in the East Bay before, and never thought much about it — assumed there were the usual hotels galore found in... More
