We had the most expensive room overlooking main street and It was a little noisy . We had a room on the side facing the ferry once before and even though the room was small it was quieter. Love that you can walk out the door and be able to walk to the restaurants and shopping ! A little pricier... More

We needed to stay an extra day than planned in San Francisco but our previous hotel was booked for an event. We spent the day as tourists in Sausalito and discovered this cute boutique hotel. It was very cozy and different from the norm. It's close to the water and shops. The staff was very professional.

We stayed 4 nights at the historic Hotel Sausalito and couldn't have been happier with our choice! Our lovely bright room overlooked the bay, had a gorgeous double shower with a stained glass window, comfy bed and French decor. The room and hotel generally was very clean and the owner, his daughter and all the staff were awesome and so... More

With a big convention in San Fran, could not find a "reasonable" priced hotel. This was still expensive ($225/night) and required a 2 night minimum, but better than the alternatives. And it was a great little hotel. We got to know the owner and his daughter as they really do work there. They were very helpful with recommendations and history.... More

We arrived in Saulsalito around 8pm on a Sat. night with no reservations, as is our habit when traveling on the motorcycle — with certain exceptions. There are not a lot of hotels in Sausalito, which surprised me. I lived in the East Bay before, and never thought much about it — assumed there were the usual hotels galore found in... More

This hotel is in the center of Sausalito right next to all the shops, restaurants and ocean. For the location, the price was great. We were here during a busy time of year but paid a little over $200 a night. We stayed for only two nights and enjoyed walking the streets of Sausalito and eating at the restaurants nearby.... More

There are times when I grouse about how much a room might cost because all I'm doing is sleeping there, but there are times when you are staying in a resort area where you may use your room a lot more. This is an older hotel, on the historic downtown waterfront, and yes, the rooms are small, but it was... More

What can I say? It was all excellent! We stayed here as part of a 5 day trip to San Francisco and we really enjoyed our night at Hotel Sausalito. The room was charming, comfortable and quiet with a really nice view. The hotel manager (Billy, from Scotland) was very hospitable and a pleasure to meet. Getting breakfast in Cafe... More

For about half the price of a room at Cavallo Point or Inn Above the Tide, or 2/3 of the price of a room at Casa Madrona, you can stay here. There are not a lot of hotel options in Sausalito. You won't find Hotel Sausalito on Expedia or Hotels.com, they are too small for that, but they have their... More

This is a charming old style hotel that is well maintained. It is very conveniently close to the ferries. The town itself is charming, safe and quiet. A good alternative to staying in San Francisco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and offer A/C. If you want a room with a view you probably have... More
