The reinvention of this former military facility -- some of its denizens watched for Japanese planes & submarines during World War II -- is a tribute to adaptive re-use, working with the community, and being green. It's not inexpensive but doesn't pretend to be. If you want a serene spot while you're in white-hot San Francisco, nothing beats being out... More

Despite a botched check in (one room for four people, I think not!) we ultimately enjoyed a great visit. This spot is quiet and great for hiking and walking. Travel to city is easy enough and makes the location and the views well worth it. It is so quiet, it is a real treat from the city chaos.

I was at Cavallo Point for business for 3 days staging an event at the lodge. The people who work there are extremely pleasant and helpful. The location is breathtaking. The meeting/event facilities are unique but totally usable. While I did not visit the restaurants, I did order room service, and I have to say, as a biz traveler, I... More

Love love love Cavallo Point! I have stayed there twice on business trips. The location is perfect, just over the bridge. The staff is very friendly, the food wonderful. It made stressful business trips so restful. The location is beautiful. Make sure to save time for the pool and spa. I had a massage and it was incredible. There are... More

Cavallo Point is a converted army base from the 1900's. The remaining buildings are from about 1919 but have been updated while keeping the many of the original elements that lend them charm. You can choose to stay in the officers quarters or in the new buildings. The new buildings that are well designed, comfortable and take full advantage of... More

Large group of business folk from all corners of the globe enjoyed exemplary service here. What a setting- the Golden Gate Bridge seemingly at the bottom of your garden, picture perfect vistas from Waltons style porches with rocking chairs. Climb the stairs (no lifts) to your huge suite and enjoy colonial style furnishings, spotless surroundings and a huge comfy bed.... More

What is not to like about Cavallo Point Lodge? It has the best view in the world of a first class city (after all I live in the Bay Area so am prejudiced), is right next to the iconic GG Bridge, has historical period buildings from an old army fort, a cooking school, yoga in the morning/evening, amazing dinning with... We spent a weekend at Cavallo Point and we can't wait to go back with our children! The service was wonderful, although we were a little inconvenienced by not being able to self park our car...(we stayed in the newly remodeled buildings). The room service and Murray Circle restaurant were scrumptious and much better than the typical hotel restaurant! Ask... More

Cavallo Point is located across the golden gate bridge from San Francisco. The lodge is a combination of history meets contemporary. We stayed in a contemporary room that had a view of the golden gate bridge. It was great to go to sleep looking at the bridge and to wake up doing so as well. You can walk to the... More
