Excellent place to relax in one of their Junior Suites, which was very nice, cleanliness excellent, beds very comfortable, quiet, housekeeping very friendly. The hotel is nice. We stayed in a suite. Cost $550/night. Way too expensive. And then they want to charge me $9.95/night for internet. Cheap, cheap, cheap! fStay 10 minutes away at the Marriott in Buellton - costs $170/night for same/better suite. Food at resort is terrible. Rooms are ok. more

Make sure you have signed and clear documentation on your room rate b4 you visit and give them your credit card as a deposit. They like to "bate and switch." more

I was driving with my aunt, mom and sister with her 14month old baby and explore "recommended" place to see in CA. We went to Solvang indeed and experience the dutch culture. I read the reviews here before deciding to give Chumash a try. I was a little put off by the room rates (starting at $195 per night as advertised on their web site) but when I called the hotel directly, the afternoon of the night I wanted to reserve, I was told they could offer me a "Manager's Special" and... more

I totally DISAGREE with the uncomplimentary reviews I read about The Chumash Hotel and Spa!!! The hotel is very new and the rooms are gorgeous. (In nearby Solvang, the hotels are very old and rundown.) The location is convenient to the touristy Solvang and wine country. There is a nice complimentary breakfast and free newspaper to get your day off... more
