The accommodations are nice but the breakfast (included with the room) was a disaster. It is served buffet style in a very small building by the side of the swimming pool. But if you try to get breakfast while others are attempting the same, it is a body-squeeze, elbow-jab effort to get near the several tables on which the breakfast... More

Convenient to highways and shopping, but quiet, especially on the back side. Friendly service, very clean, well maintained. Not fancy, but has everything needed for a comfortable stay including a microwave and refrigerator in every room. If your plan is to spend your time out and about and aren't looking for something fancy -- the Sandman is a good choice.... More

We love to go to the wine country, but do not love spending lots of money on a hotel that we are rarely spending time in. We have found the Sandman to be a very clean and comfortable motel and has reasonable charges. Nothing to fancy, but rooms are nice and staff is friendly and helpful.

Clean room, plenty of parking, pet friendly, breakfast included. Great for the price. Close to downtown Santa Rosa. Some noise while you are sleeping from neighbors, but that's any hotel. Good water pressure in the shower as well. Bed was fairly comfortable as well.

When you're seeking budget-friendly, you depend a lot upon reviews - and you also realize that everyone has differing standards, so you weight and discern for what's important to you. Describing this place includes: helpful staff, super clean, older, yet updated property, eye-pleasing decor, and we appreciate parking right in front of our room. Very dog-friendly. For us, this place... More

Moderately priced, comfortable and clean. Breckfast is included with your stay but not much to choose from. There is a swimming pool but did not use it. A popular motel because it was full the 3 nights we were there. Handicap rooms are available with large bathrooms equipped for handicap bathing.

My husband and I go occasionally to the Santa Rosa area to visit friends, and have tried several different motels/hotels. The Sandman is now our 1st choice. The price is right, the beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and have everything you want, and the breakfast (included!) was good too! They even have a very attractive and large pool... More

I was traveling alone and wanted to minimize costs without getting "roughing it" too much. The reviews here summed it up well. When I arrived, I was offered some choice in rooms, and selected an upstairs room in the corner of a building, which turned out to be very quiet. The layout of the room was a bit unusual -... More

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we made reservations 2 months in advance for two rooms for two nights. I expected more. The rooms are in desperate need of updating. Carpet has seen its better days. Fixtures have been around a while and the lighting is poor to read by. The bedding was ok but I don't think the towels have... More

Booked most of our hotels when traveling but since we were unsure of where we'd be or dates we decided to "wing it". We got lucky with the Sandman. Being gone for over two weeks we tried to be frugal whenever we could with out cheating ourselves of comfort. The Sandman came thru on both accounts. The bedding was fine,... More
