We didn't stay at this hotel, but had a beverage in the lobby bar and it was fabulous. It overlooks the beach and is a great spot for sunset. There's a decent variety of food, and there was live music when we were there. The hotel looked amazing - very upscale.

Before we booked this hotel I did some research. Obviously not enough. The hotel is tired. The first room had a sloping floor and made us feel dizzy. The second room was dusty and I had to ask for it to be cleaned again. The pool looks from the photograph as though it is on the beach, in fact it... More

We just spent 3 nights after a long flight from Shanghai. I would have loved an earlier check in...we were very tired, and arrived around 12. The room would only be ready at 4.00 pm and in fact we had to wait until 4.30. We are member of the LHW club and I had hoped it would have een enough... More

This is a beautiful hotel with great service, a nice restaurant, and nice views, so why do they misrepresent the rooms they sell on Expedia? I chose this hotel because they showed a good price for an ocean front room. We reserved an ocean view king for ourselves and a partial ocean king for my adult children. The price difference... Traveled to many places around the world. This hotel was clean, in a great location and services like none other. I recommend this hotel highly and will defiantly return. There was a feeling in this place of comfort combined with high class and sophistication.

We spent two days here. It is located on the beach. we stayed on the seventh floor and had an Ocean view. The room was exceptionable. Tastefully decorated and very tech ready. The bed was perfect. The staff are all first class; pleasant and ready to help you. The pool is small more for soaking not swimming. The pool over... More

We loved our four night stay at Casa del Mar. Every aspect of our room was delightful; it was wonderfully decorated with greater attention to detail than we've ever seen even among the most expensive and luxurious hotels in the world. We also loved the feeling in the lobby and dining areas, which are also meticulously well decorated; the beach... More

everything about this hotel is perfect except that the air temperature control (Thermostat) was hidden between a wall and a book case so it required staff to show me where it was, and the face was hidden so I had to "guess" at what temprerature I was setting it at. For a hotel room that cost close to $500USD per... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
