There are only a few beachfront hotels in Santa Monica and Casa del Mar is one of them. From the moment we walked into the majestic lobby, I knew we had arrived in such a luxurious welcoming environment. Our room faced the Santa Monica pier and Malibu providing us with a preferred view. My only wish was for a balcony... More

The front desk staff was not friendly or even warm when we arrived after a long flight. The hotel was under construction that week so the pool was closed and unusable. There were also window washers that week, and they woke us up early one morning. The room itself was very clean, but very small. We felt crammed in throughout... More

I stayed at Casa Del Mar for two nights prior to a business trip in January 2015. I enjoyed the property so much that my fiance and I have just booked a night in late June as a stop over from New York en route to Bora Bora for our honeymoon. I'm very much looking forward to soaking in the... More

This hotel is beautiful and a perfect location right on the beach. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view room when we arrived and it was a nice surprise. The room decor has a nice upscale beach vibe and was very well kept. The bathroom is HUGE and has a lot of marble esque look. Only downfall is the... More

I've now stayed here 4/5 times and cannot complain about a single thing. Professional service from check-in to concierge to restaurant and bar. Rooms are modern, big enough and the location is perfect. The pool area is small but ideal for what we need and never is a request to the concierge desk too much trouble. Restaurant starts a bit... Fast check in, beautiful hotel, but a very masculine feel. Room was very nice , bedding nice, comfortable bed, plush towelsand great toiletries. The hotel is beautiful staff friendly and courteous . The pool area is small. Great location . Drinks at bar were very good and food was delicious. My son moved to CA so each time I visit... More

Stayed here for a few days - was a great hotel and would definitely return. Rooms were great and the lobby was busy and bar was wonderful. Right on the beach. Great location. Would recommend to anyone going to LA.

We had a very relaxing 9 day stay here at the end of an extended trip to the States. It was a perfect relax - great restaurant, gym(could be larger), pool area very well maintained, staff uniformly helpful, attentive and friendly right through from front desk to restaurant and room cleaners. On day one they managed to get our room... More

First time at this hotel.....I agree with most of the other reviews......great location.....impressive lobby area.....professional and courteous service......my room was the "super deluxe extraordinary oceanfront view".....or similar.....and the view was a disappointment.....6th floor.....the pool and the palms covered much of the view......the room was large....the windows opened (fresh air).....OK internet......irritating that there was an internet "upgrade".....coffee in the room.....and the... Casa Del Mar has a fantastic waterfront location. Attention to customer service excels. Guest courtesy car service a life saver! Sunday brunch was delicious and beautifully served in a fantasy setting.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
