Stayed 4 nights in this cosmopolitan spot with the gorgeous Santa Monica sunsets in view over the Pacific and super sweet BMW bikes to use on the house. Such a great spot as there are really good restaurants within walking distance. We'd recommend the Blue Plate Oysterette and hip roof top bars the Shang Ri La. Check in was late... More

This was the final hotel of our 2 week trip to California which began in San Fransisco. It immediately felt like an upmarket, corporate City hotel after staying in the lovely boutique L'Auberge and the charming Santa Barbara seaside Harbor View. First impression was smart, stylish, loud and hectic. It was a Satuday evening and the hotel lobby, bar and... More

Recently enjoyed a one night stay in a Miramar suite ocean view. Very nice, with a great view of the sea. Best part of the stay. Room was ready upon arrival and all staff encountered and requests made were accommodated readily. Including use of the courtesy car our evening for a drop off for cocktails. Great location, enjoyed walking the... More

Stayed here for 5 nights in November - lovely location with walking distance to many attractions - did a cycle tour from the pier which took us all along muscle beach and and Venice beach. Quite a way from Hollywoodattractions with so much traffic. Breakfast was to order only no buffet and service slow. Bedrooms airy and light, pool small... More

Dear CBirks2014 – Thank you so much for leaving a review! One of the best parts of staying in Santa Monica is the departure from the craziness of Hollywood…and a bike tour is the best way to see everything we have to offer here over on the Westside! Next time please see our Concierge about the complimentary BMW bikes we... More

We only stayed for one night dropping in from Palm Springs with our girls for a quick visit. We pulled up to the valet and were greeted swiftly, our baggage was loaded up and we were directed to check in. Before checking in we were shown the the bicycles which are available for complimentary use. The check in was quick,... More

This hotel is absolutely lovely from the outside, but don't be deceived by the book cover. Maybe it was my mistake staying here for work. I automatically assume that in this day and age, internet is not too much to ask. Needless to say, I was running out of the hotel at all hours trying to find a Starbucks to... More

Dear RinaBoBeana – I’m so sorry to hear you didn’t get any work done while you were staying with us! Our corporate guests traveling for work actually make up the bulk of our nightly visitors, and some are up to their 100th stay and beyond! The next time you encounter any issues with the internet, please do not hesitate to... More

The hotel grounds are beautiful! Lovely atmosphere! Everyone at check in was so nice and accommodating , specially the lovely Daniella and Raymond. Would stay at this hotel again for sure. The rooms are cozy and nice and they gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Staff is very thoughtful and they do really make... More

Nice hotel - definitely a Fairmont basic minimum quality. Spa is nice in hotel and front desk at spa was very accommodating. Front desk staff was not friendly and snotty. And the "club" in front drive is noisy and doesn't add much to hotel for guests. Wish the pool was heated! Book with Fine Hotels and Resorts and get breakfast... More

Dear NYC-TRAVEL-10 – Thank you for the review, but I am shocked to read our Front Desk team came across as “snotty”! I only know them has a passionate and excited bunch of young hospitality professionals, so if they were perceived in any other way, I apologize as that is not the norm. Should you choose to stay with us... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
