Great option for families who need a suite-hotel room with both bedroom for the adults and living room with pull-out couch for the kids. Semi-affordable and close to Third Street Promenade shopping and restaurants, and to Santa Monica Beach.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent valet service and lovely lobby. Rooms are acceptable, nice to have a sitting areas. Towels are very rough- it's like drying off with a loofah and water pressure is fair but water temp. is great. Not convinced beds were king and queen- more like queen and double. Needs ceramic mugs in room for coffee.... More

This was a good hotel and a short walk to the pier. The hotel did mess up my reservation and gave me two full beds instead of a king we did not have time to complain which was a mistake. Parking is valet and it is right off the highway so you can hear the road. The room was clean... More

Stayed for 3 nights, excellent location walking distance to beach, bars, shops. Rented bikes...did a short pub crawl to Venice Beach then back to SM Shopping district for dinner. Bike rental was $24 for two bikes for about 3hours. Returned to hotel & had fresh baked cookies waiting for us....room is big and comfy plus reasonably priced. Also got Hilton... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was an ideal location. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We picked up some bikes ($10 for 2) for a bike, beach and bar crawl down the cycle lanes to Venice beach and then over to the pier - I highly recommend it.. The shops are also amazing! All the usual... More

We decided to fly into LAX a day early, prior to boarding a long international flight to break up the flight and gave us a contingency plan in case of bad weather in the Midwest in January. Decided to stay in Santa Monica instead of near the airport because there is so much to do in the area. Choose the... More

Not the best hotel we stayed in, but certainly not the worst. Has all the facilities you need in a major hotel but is starting to show signs that it needs a facelift. Rooms were quite spacious and were clean and tidy. Fold out bed for our 2 girls was quite uncomfortable but the main bed was excellent. Freeway is... More

It all depends on the rate you find. I do love staying so close to the beach, and 4 minutes walk from the beautiful 3rd street. Also the service here was more than excellent, the staff is really making an effort for your comfort. My breakfast was included and it was good, the restaurant is good. The rooms are huge... More

This hotel is in major need of a renovation. I was so disappointed in my room when I arrived that I searched for other hotels in the area and considered checking back out immediately and moving to another hotel. The room was old and run down. The A/C did not work correctly, so the room remained on a constant temperature,... More

I have stayed at this hotel 5 times, and continue to make it my number one choice when travelling to the Santa Monica area. The staff is excellent and all of them go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant, even for minor things that you would not typically expect much attention to be paid to. The staff does... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
