Good standard. Mid 90s decor, but clean and tidy. Reasonable price for in room dining and $2 for 20oz soda from vending machines doesn't make you think you are being ripped-off. Parking was very expensive at $32 plus tax per night. The Valets expect a tip as well. The total cost of parking could be a shock to someone from... More

This hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The pier is only about 3/4 mile away. Tons a great places to eat. However the hotel is noisy. Due to the location and the angle it sits, the roads boarder each side of the hotel. There is lots of traffic and street noisy.

The Doubletree suites has provides us with a pleasurable and pleasant stay after travelling for 5 weeks throughout USA. This is the last stage of our trip. It couldn't have been better with the location, friendly and helpful reception, fantastic large room. We were fortunate enough to get a top floor with great views. The concierge James R was fantastic... More

Overall, my last few stays here have been positive. + LOCATION - less than 15 minutes to walk over to Santa Monica Pier, and less than 10 minutes to the promenade, where you'll find tons of restaurants, bars, street musicians. I had a couple friends stay with me, and they were so impressed by LA / Santa Monica after staying... More

Front Desk refuse to add breakfast to the daily rate even though we are staying 4 nights and I am a Hilton Honors member. Location was fantastic and room are fantastic. Staff was polite and breakfast chef is really rude. No manners at all.

This hotel is beautiful, friendly, and reasonably priced! We had an initial problem (our reservation somehow got cancelled. The manager, Nathan Carter, was gracious and helpful and what could have been a disaster turned into a great stay.

The Doubletree is what you would expect from an older, standard Doubletree layout with interior courtyard and glass elevators. The one bedroom suites are very big and were clean, if a little dated/worn in spots. The staff here is super friendly. Everyone I spoke to at the front desk, valet, concierge desk, bell hop and housekeeping were wonderful. James, a... More

Very nice place. Food in the restaurant was good. Having a satellite Starbucks inside was wonderful. Our room was very nice. clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. BUT!!!! One thing I have to complain about is parking and traffic. With all of the road work going on in the immediate area the traffic is absolutely ridiculous. The parking... More

Good hotel with clean, comfortable and good sized rooms. Location is good (short walk to 3rd street or beach) and all staff were pleasant. Facilities ok - cookies on arrival and daily water in rooms are nice touches, as would be the flavoured water in the lobby were it not aalmost always exhausted. A couple of key tips - (1)... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
