This hotel is in a good location, but that's about it. It does not have a pool, and the breakfast is continental, toast and cereal. I checked in on a Friday and was asked to leave on Monday because the Manager said there was a no dog policy. My service animal was in his vest and the ADA regulations were... More

I was on a 2 day stop before heading home. The staff were fantastic. Offered me great advice on places to go and places to eat. Showed me on the map how to get around and the cheapest way to do it. I mentioned that I was going to buy some things and needed to get a new bag to... More

The hotel seemed to have been recently renovated though some art deco features remain. The room and bathroom were clean, I found the pillows too big and the breakfast lacking in anything remotely whole grain. The refrigerator was ample, the TV is digital so ask how to operate it before it is late night.

Not a bad room, furniture was a bit outdated, but bathroom seemed newly renovated. There were consistently ants in the room, especially the bathroom, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi was undoubtedly the worse a hotel could possibly have, there was like a 30% chance that you can connect to the wifi, and the front desk guy's explanation... More

Stayed for a few nights during out west coast trip, was ideal for what we wanted, free parking, breakfast and wifi, ideally situated with the big blue bus stop 1 block away $1 trips to pretty much anywhere, the pier, Venice beach and Beverly Hills, had a great stay

This place is fine for a few nights and the price is usually good for the area. check discount sites. This hotel could use an update but our room was big and the bed just fine - bathroom was clean - 2 downsides #1 the cont. breakfast - or lack of! go for a walk in the morning and hit... More

For an older hotel, it is great. Could use a little updating but for two nights, I have no complaints. The continental breakfast could have had more options.....(waffles) lol,...but you are close to a lot....walking or driving. Price is decent for Santa Monica. Rooms were clean and big, had a top floor balcony that was great to sit out on... More

I only stayed here because it was the closest to the fencing tournament in the area. The hotel feels very unsafe and old. Not the safest area..... the room did not have convenient usb plugs on the lamps instead in unusual areas like next to the refrigerator and in front of the door. The bed was clean but not enough... This 1930's style hotel has received mixed reviews, but we were very happy with our stay. The staff on reception were always helpful and obliging and made you feel most welcome. The room was spacious, clean and with plenty of facilities available. There is a Sun deck on the roof if you cannot afford a balcony. The breakfast is very... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
