I stayed here for 2 night with my partner and thought the hotel was in a perfect location and quaint. The rooms were large and catered for most needs. It take two minutes and you,re walking on the beach,10minutes to Santa Monica (depending if you're taking a leisurely stroll) and 15 minutes to all the fab shops, cafés etc. We only... More

When we arrived at this hotel, our heart sank. It looked really dingy and old and as it was our Honeymoon we got really worried. Upon getting an early check in due to the lovely staff we soon discovered that the inside is beautifully renovated and made for a very comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable with a really great view... More

The Bayside Hotel - a lot of charm with a killer sunset view !!! The location is fantastic. Walking distance to trendy Main St. shops and restaurants, the Santa Monica Pier, and also the beach! It's also one of only a handful of properties with a direct ocean view of Santa Monica Beach. I live in Santa Monica and recommend... More

Stayed at Bayside for two nights. Upon arriving, the hotel room was not ready, but the young lady took care of everything and we just had to pick up our keys. The room was amazing. I love this hotel,it was close to everything. We walked everywhere and really enjoy the patio in front of my room.

I cannot complain about the premises at all except the bed we had. Flimsy, wobbly, frail and probably not at all good for your back. Ruined a good nights sleep. The rooms are fine with extra touches, such as skin sensitive soaps, and USB ports along with power sockets - a great customer touch. Friendly staff. Bed was tiny for... More

Awesome location. Pretty much on the beach. A generous walk to the wharf and 3rd st prominard. Free wifi very quick and easy to access. They have bikes for hire that comes with a lock. Great for visiting sorounding arears. Which is a must. Rooms are medium size beds are queens. Clean with a beachie type appearance. Bathrooms are small... More

I paid 330usd a night plus 25usd parking for a room on the ground floor with a garden view. The room was big but the walls super slim - you can hear your neighbours. The floors are lino and not clean enough to walk barefoot. Wifi is free - but with the american film market taking place, there was not... More

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor, I spent a night at the Bayside Hotel. My room appeared recently renovated. Unlike the basic, tired decor of your average hotel, the Bayside felt like a a friend's beachy guest room, but better. White wood floors, attractive white dresser, desk and closet and a king sized comfy bed. The bathroom was also refurbished with... More

This hotel is lovely and minutes from the beach - which is how they justify the price. The rooms are spacious, comfy (as is the bed). The bathroom is lovely and new. and the hotel is minutes from bars, restaurants and shops. I'd definitely stay here again.

Alright here is the thing, this is probably my favourite Hotel "motel" style i have been in southern california, overall the rooms are renovated and offer basically everything, from spacious restroom and docking station. Very nice frigobar and a\c system. The room\garden patio is full of space and chairs to lounge and relax. The position is perfect right in front... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
