After doing some research, I found this hotel to be one of the best options in the overly expensive Santa Monica. The location is fantastic. It's right across from the beach and there's a convenient store and a good breakfast / coffee shop like a minute away. It is also quite close to the SM Pier and pretty close to... More

Hotel is no better than ok, you are paying for the location, about 10 minute walk into Santa Monica and just up the hill from the beach. Bed was comfy, aircon noisy and maid service almost non existent(bed sheets pulled up) parking is a further $22 per night. Not really worth the money!!

Ok, so Santa Monica is cool and affluent. This probably explains the ridiculously over-priced accommodation in the area. I took way too long researching where to stay in SM and ultimately opted for the Bayside. Main reason for this was that it's located pretty much right on the beach, 10 mins walk from the Pier, 15 mins to 3rd St... More

We were due to stay at another hotel, but at the end of our trip it just seemed so pricey, so we did the quickest hotel search ever and found Bayside. Got check in, took around 20 mins, and we could go into our room straight away! (It was 11.30am). Room was lovely, clean, bright exactly what you could want... More

Me and my friends stayed in this hotel October 2013...so my review runs " little behind " Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Location is just perfect 10, next to beach and Santa Monica pier. There's lot´s of restaurants near by and night live seemed to be in condition :) Our room was facing towards the ocean and it was... More

The Bayside hotel is a cool old-school-style beach hotel. Retro vibe. Nothing fancy, but everything I needed. Very comfortable. The location is hard to beat! I was planning to stay 4 nites & then stay a couple more nites at an old friend's house, but I decided to stay all 6 nites at the Bayside. The California Beach vibe of the... More

We stayed here for 5 nights as a family in one room. We were on the ground floor by the inside courtyard which functioned as an extra living space for us. Felt like a cool retro place to stay... 2 storeys and so close to the beach.... a one minute walk down the hill and you're there. Bathrooms could do... More

Loved everything about this place. Excellent location, staff were extremely helpful and friendly, great common areas, clean, comfy beds. We stayed on the top floor, didn't have any issues with noise. Stayed here with two friends - highly recommend for young couples/groups. We loved the outdoor area - was great for using the free wifi.

Santa Monica was our family of five's third stop in LA area (others were Newport Beach & Bev.Hills) in mid-August. Bay View Hotel offered a terrific location, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly service and good value. Hotel is 60's-style and more like a motel, actually, and about a third of rooms face the ocean, across the park. Area is convenient... More

I've stayed at the Bayside Hotel last month (July ) and in 2005. The style is 50's and not modern like the Miami Hilton I stayed at before traveling on to California, but the rooms were very clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. I had to leave the hotel for a few days to get my daughter set up... More
