Stayed 2 nights here and had booked it for our little bit of luxury on our california road trip. It didn't disappoint. The hotel building is beautiful and well maintained. We had booked a standard room which was great , at the side of the hotel with a lovely view of the beach and ocean. the room was plenty big... More

We had stayed here two years ago and had such a lovely time we rebooked for our trip this year. Sadly our previous experience was not repeated. Two occasions we tried to have refreshments on the Veranda we were told the service was closed even to Hotel guests. On a third occasion they could provide coffee but not cake unless... More

We have just spent a fabulous three days at the Georgian Hotel. The location could not be better - right on Ocean Avenue, just across the road from Santa Monica beach. The ocean view windows give spectacular views of the beach, pier and ocean. It is just a short walk to all three, with 3rd Street Promenade just round the... More

we stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The rooms were quite small but very nice. Breakfast on the veranda was good. Location of the hotel was great as it was close to shops, restaurants and the pier. I was originally over charged for my stay, but this problem was resolved by the reception staff. The hotel was... This hotel was pretty good - it has character, great decor and is very well laid out, in contrast to the many hotels in Santa Monica, which generally look breeze block-esque. In terms of pluses, the hotel has a great veranda, perfect for watching the sea and the world go by. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the... More

My husband, daughter and I shared a very lovely suite (without ocean view) in the historic Georgian. Other than the decrepit - but rather charming- elevators, it was a lovely location, with a wonderful porch for dining.

This is one of my all-time favorite hotels! The front desk staff are really helpful and accommodating as are the restaurant staff! I love the Veranda restaurant where you can sit outside and eat breakfast (they also have indoor seating if you're chilly) and watch the street show go by. The restaurant is also great for evening happy hour. The... More

Stayed 3 night s after getting to LA from the UK. Charming Hotel in a great location across from the beach, very short walk to good shopping & restaurants. Hotel is older & not the largest rooms but perfectly adequate, clean, comfortable & well equipped. Staff were helpful & friendly all in all the perfect start to our holiday. Only... More

We arrived from the Ritz in Laguna Negel (so this was quite a letdown) and check in was slow. The hotel has lovely deco architecture and a nice atmosphere. However, our second room was not on the same floor as requested. We were informed we would have to wait until 6:00 pm for another room on the same floor. When... More

I had high hopes for this hotel after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures of the hotel on line, however, I was pretty disappointed with our stay. Upon driving up to the hotel, we first noticed that the veranda was closed for remodeling, which we were not expecting. check in was fast and efficient, however, when we got... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
