I extensively researched hotels in Sta Monica as the rates are really high. Ended up finding a good deal at The Georgian with the payment in advance. Couldn't havr made a better choice. Upon arrival before 8 am (and after a 12h flight!) I was promptly checked in and went to my room. A nicely decorated, comfortable room with ventilator,... More

This hotel, built in the early 1900's had been wonderfully updated while maintaining the architectural integrity and vibe. They have a wonderful veranda and serve lovely delish meals. Perched right next to the famous Third Street Promenade where shopping, restaurants and entertainment abounds and along Ocean Avenue overlooking the Santa Monica Pier and beach, this is a premiere spot for... This long established hotel on the waterfront is an icon. Our room was nice, the turn- down service a bonus. Sleep quality was excellent. Service on the Terrace was patchy - the young woman who came on later quickly put things to rights though. Valet service was helpful and pleasant. Sadly the room/house keeping service wasn't up to scratch -... More

The staff -- many of whom have been here for many years -- are as outstanding as the location and the views. This place is my favorite of all the hotels I stay in, not only for the veranda overlooking the Pacific, the delicious food, the beautiful art-deco decor, the warm ambiance of the rooms, but also for the incredible... we stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel. not the usual place we would stay, like a big branded hotel - which was a GOOD thing. very helpful staff at reception and the bar. Room was fine, lots of quirky features around the hotel. really close to santa monica beach and pier. you would need a taxi/hire car to and... More

This is my third visit to Santa Monica and my 2nd stay at the Georgian. Cannot say enough about how great the staff is, no matter what time of day or night. The food is also wonderful and very reasonably priced by LA standards. You cannot beat the art deco old Cali ambience and of course there is the view... More

Superb location, with guest rooms & terrace restaurant overlooking Santa Monica beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Boutique hotel with interesting old-style décor and room furnishings but also comfortable. Access may be a problem for some, with steps up from the street & a further set of steps to get from the lobby to the lifts. Two very old, slow and... More

The rooms here are perfect for our family. Our kids are 18 and 15. There is a separate living room with a fold out sofa and a day bed that they put sheets on. My wife and I had the bedroom behind its own doors to ourselves. The bathroom is very large with two entrances. Perfect. The hotel staff is... More

Picked this since it was located within walking of shopping and restaurants. Our room was perfect. I was travelling with my teenage son so we had a bedroom and living room with sofa bed. Everyone who worked at the hotel was so nice and welcoming. Valet was quick bringing your car around. Would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay here, staff is friendly and always with a smile on their faces. Breakfast was great, we also had dinner their in the evening which was tasty. Location is fantastic, right next to the beach, with a nice sun set every evening. Shopping is just behind the hotel. Will stay again! Only thing to complain about... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
