Great location to get to places in West LA and along the coast. The hotel itself is a bit old (you can tell that’s it’s been around for awhile) but it’s clean and comfortable as are the rooms. I didn’t care for the old fashion air conditioner unit below the window in the room because it was kind of noisy... More

Stayed one night. No breakfast, but an IHOP next door. The room was very small and it makes me crazy when you book a room for 4 people and you have to call (twice) because there are only 2 towels. They talk about a shuttle, but they end up calling a taxi to take you to the pier (which they... More

We stayed for two days, the last two days of our honeymoon. Upon arrival we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. Despite booking through hotels.com, upon mentioning in conversation that we were on our honeymoon, we were instantly upgraded to a top floor room with access to a sun deck and presented with complimentary prosecco, a very welcome... Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Have to say found staff very helpful & they made our stay great. The free parking was great & the IHOP restaurant next door was lovely for breakfast. It's a 20 min walk down to the pier but I did this a few times & it was fine. Would recommend this hotel to everyone

I highly recommend looking into other hotel options. The service was poor and communication lacked among the staff. Check-in was a hassle and my room was not ready for me upon arrival. I was guaranteed the hotel would have a shuttle for me to the airport at the end of the stay which was not the case. I was also... More

Reasonably convenient but mattresses were very uncomfortable. They gave me a backache plus they must be wrapped in plastic making them noisy when you turn over. Location is cab or car distance from the pier in Santa Monica. Freeway reasonably close. Shower has ongoing drip wasting water during California drought. The next door IHOP was fine and convenient.

Very nice hotel close to Santa Monica Beach and shopping. The free shuttle was very handy and staff very friendly. The room was large and hotel was very clean. We would stay here again when visiting the LA area.

The is a low cost budget hotel in Santa Monica. It's clean and friendly enough. There's a budget IHOP diner next door which is fine for breakfast. The walk to Santa Monica pier in about 30 minutes. If you want to treat yourself and can afford to then get somewhere on the beach, but if you are on a budget... More

Having stayed at this hotel in 2014, I returned without a question of doubt. It is such a good find, and would recommend it to anyone for business or pleasure. The rooms are big, clean , decent shower and big screen TV (most of my requirements!). One big advantage is that parking is secure and free - this can make... More

We stayed 2 nights in this Best Western. The hotel is easy to find and situated a 10 minute bus ride from the pier. Underground parking was available and is perfect for tourists as once you are parked everything is in easy reach via public transport or taxi. Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated with a sand dollar/seaside theme. The... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
