There was very little privacy. Paper thin walls. No AC!!! Just two fans in one room. The curtains were paper thin. On one window there was not enough curtains to cover it up. One window had a lock missing. There was not enough parking. It was close to the beach and they did give me a cash price discount.

We are sincerely apologize for your less than positive experience at our hotel. I will speak with the Front Desk Manager and make sure the window lock and curtains are replaced in the room you stayed in. We hope you enjoyed the beach while staying here! More

I stay here every time I come to LA. Rosa and Jeff are like family and always look out for me. The rooms are great and some have kitchenettes. Great restaurants close by as well as the Santa Monica Pier. I love the place. Jack

Thank you for the nice review Jack! I am glad you were able to enjoy the kitchenette even with all the amazing restaurants on the Third Street Promenade. I will make sure Jeff and Rosa see your kind words about them, they really do a great job. Hope we see you again soon! More

Real gem with 5 mins walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier. Manage to book this room at a unbeatable price in the vicinity. Accommodation comes with free parking, limited though, which was a plus considering many accommodations would require additional resort fee etc. I was given room 12, which was relatively clean. Room was equipped with heater, TV, fridge... More

We try and maintain a great affordable price for our guests, we are happy you thought so as well! We only have so many parking spaces, however, we do have additional overflow spaces should spots become limited. Thank you again and what a great photo you took from the balcony, December and January have some of the best sunsets. We'll... More

I stayed here for a night early last year and I was satisfied with my experience. Here is my review: Location, location, location!!! The location and proximity to everything was awesome. It's steps to the beach and a short 5 minute walk and you are on the pier! The location and price makes up for everything this hotel is lacking!... More

You really can't beat the location -- within walking distance of the pier and Third Street Promenade, and just steps from the beach. The staff is helpful, with good suggestions of where to dine and what to do, and the rooms are clean and well-maintained. This year I stayed in a king room, #12, and got a lot of street... More

I mistakenly made the reservation for Seaview instead of the Seashore Motel and will not make that mistake again. It has location going for it and that's about it. You can walk to the beach and it's the SM pier. Our 2nd floor room had a large window that a) didn't lock and b) looked out to the walkway. Instead... More

The location is amazing, it is located just a couple of blocks from the pier. Great value. The room is really good, you have a kitchen (without kitchenware) and a private balcony. No breakfast included. Wifi included. There is not AC, no issue at all about that for October stay.

For around 100 bucks a night, you cant beat it. Friendly service, clean and large updated rooms and short walking distance to the beach and pier. Parking in the alley was tight and hard to find a space but manager was very helpful in finding us a spot. I cant wait to go back!

It's a basic place that could do with a bit of TLC. Fine for a couple of nights stay but wouldn't recommend much longer than that. Good location, only a walk into the centre of SM and the pier. No AC which was okay for an October stay but in full summer might be a problem! Check-in isn't the greatest... More

For $144 for a night, we were 5 seconds from the beach. Ideally located between Venice and Santa Monica beaches makes both walking distance. The hotel room is very clean. Very comfortable bed. Nice flat screen tv. Great wifi. If you're after a great location and aren't too fussed about a fancy room, this is highly recommended :)

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
