4th time staying here and loved it. We had room number 10 which was up the last flight of stairs near the walkway down to the beach and it was very comfortable. Only downside is those threadbare towels they still have and the lack of utensils, pots and pans in the kitchen but since we only stayed 3 nights we... More

This hotel was very near the Pier at Santa Monica and the beaches and was in walking distance to Venice Beach. Rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. There is no air con but the two fans provided were fine even in the height of summer. The kitchenette was useful but poorly equipped. The roof seating areas were lovely as... More

Nice little Hotel, tucked in a corner of a main street and walking distance to the beach. I stayed first time because of work. I always go back when I go to Santa Monica for a weekend. Mall, restaurants, beach, all walking distance, never had a problem finding a parking spot (free) in their limited parking area. Owner / manager... More

The hotel is in an absolutely brilliant location and is very close to the beach, pier, shops, etc. There is a cute balcony that would probably be lovely in nicer weather. Unfortunately that's really all it's got going for it. The beds were really uncomfortable; it was lucky we only had 3 people in our 2 double room as one... More

Great location, friendly and helpful host, room good, a little street noise and the kitchen wasn't supplied with many utensils but overall a good place to stay close to all the action! Free parking, and very budget friendly- I would stay again!

This Hotel offers everything you need for a visit aimed Santa Monica. Strategic location, the owner is friendly and kind. Quality price,I consider it more than adequate. Not having had the car,I can not judge use of the parking lot, but this latter seemed a bit limited.

The hotel has this lovely 60s beach hotel feel. The rooms are renovated and roomy. There's a private garden and a private path to the beach. The cafe next door does great food. It's near the 3rd Street Mall and right next to a hotel that costs 8 times as much! The staff couldn't have been more helpful with the... More

We stayed there for a night, arrived before dinner and left by breakfast time. We absolutely liked the location, walking distance to the pier and to the Santa Monica promenade. Furnishings were all Ikea style except for the bathroom, which was clean and neat but "outdated" american style. It was also walking distance to the beach. Very good value for... More

First off I was very hesitated on staying here but what made stayed here was check in was at 1 pm (most place is at 3or 4) since I was staying in Hollywood for the past three days and check out was at noon. Got to admit it was a awesome choose, the staff was very friendly. The man gave... More

The location is excellent. The staff were very friendly. The cost of the room was reasonable in comparison to all the high cost accommodations in Santa Monica. Not worth the price, though. If you want nostalgia, you get it with this motel. Limited free parking. Decor in the room was an attempt at industrial 50's with IKEA blended in.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
