Ok good points, the room was clean and the guy that checked us in was friendly, the wifi was great. The rest, there was an unpleasant odour in the rooms and at the check in desk. Some residents seemed to be permanent along with their kids and pets. The beds were protected with plastic mattress protectors......why!? The bath had a... More

I stayed there for last night and I had an overall very good experience. The staff was very friendly from start and very customer oriented. Check in was fast. The Price was very reasonable for what I got: The room was clean, new Flat Screen TV; Big Bed; Nice furniture; spacious room and the floor had nice tiles and it... More

This is my favorite less expensive place to stay when I am in Los Angeles. Charm all the way, great location, I like walking around here. No, I would not pick out the same flooring, materials, etc but I am here on vacation and the pricing is ultra reasonable.

I travel extensively worldwide. I've stayed at the Palm Motel frequently since May while helping my son launch his recording engineer business. Though I have friends nearby because I worked and raised my kids in SM, I prefer staying at this cheery, clean, affordable enclave. It's within walking and/or biking distance to all Santa Monica attractions. The Palm is immediately... More

I have travelled a lot around the world and Palm Motel in Santa Monica is my favourite motel ever! I have stayed in this charming motel several times over the last four years, I always go back to this place every time I am in Santa Monica. It is a charming motel in a beautiful setting with fresh flowers in... More

This place is a great deal, comfortable and clean. From the beginning it was an extremely positive experience, from the rooms to the gentleman who owns the place the motel was warm and inviting. I highly recommend it, anyone that says otherwise is crazy!

This place, while somewhat charming on the outside, painted in bright blue, bright red and white with funky painted five-gallon cans filled with shrubs and stuff, IS A DUMP!! Our room had a bed (ok but not great), a bed-side table that was falling apart, a chest with the fronts of all the drawers falling off. Nothing else; not even... More

Wow, where do I start? This place has it all... If you are coming to Santa Monica and you want to experience a Venice Beach Boardwalk meets Beverly Hills skid row like vibe here in Santa Monica then this quaint little motel is the ticket; Behold the power of Cuckoo! Quite a collection of people seem to be dwelling here... More

Clean and tended to daily by maidservice. Appropriate help from owner and manager on parking, noise levels etc. given the regular inflow of young European travelers. Would recommend and will return. Busy Pico but mellow suburbs just block away.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
