Partner, 18 yo daughter and myself had 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom suite. Perfect location, basic facilities, some noise but not too much to worry about. Some homeless people nearby but never hassled by them. Heating difficult to get right, and TV reception dropped out a bit. Free WIFI was good. Great location as 2 mins walk to Pier, and about... A group of 5 of us stayed here in Nov 2014 in the two bedroom room. Firstly the rooms are alot smaller in real life, the photos are a little deciving, so keep that in mind. However we all fit in with our huge suitcases and had an absolute blast. Literally a two minute walk to the pier and about... More

Price affordable, bed comfortable. Well priced for the location. Right next to the pier and an easy walk to the 3rd street promenade. Our room had two rooms with a double in each, so perfect for a family of 4 (two young boys). Price reflects what you get. Satisfied.

Wish we could have had more time, but stayed just one night at Ocean Lodge. You must understand that the Lodge is an older building & the rooms could be more up to date & larger, but it makes up for it with excellent service, water views & a great location. Would recommend it.

The service was faultless, with them giving me free toothpaste mouthwash, biscuits and magazines. Everything was spotless with cute shell-shaped toiletries. We had an unexpected large tv. Plus its 5mins walk fron the beach and santa monica strip. At £50 a night its not cheap for a motel, but due to the location I'd definitely come back

No its not the Ritz, but this motel is clean, comfortable and in the best location you could ask for in Santa Monica. Literally 2 minute walk to the pier, 5 mins from Santa Monica Boulevard. A group of us stayed in a 3 bed family room which was perfect for one night. Loved Santa Monica and loved this hotel.... More

We had a family of 5 and the room was perfect - separate room for the adults and room with TV and beds for 3 kids. The parking was extra, but it was so nice to just WALK to everything we wanted to do near the Pier. We stayed two nights and it was just perfect for us. The staff... More

I Stayed at the Ocean Lodge for 2 nights. It was a perfectly functional motel. The room was reasonably sized, everything including the bathroom was spotless and there was free wifi with reasonable speed. The staff were lovely, quite helpful with organizing taxis etc. This is not somewhere you go to hang out ; but it is an inexpensive place... More

We just recently stayed at the Ocean Lodge Hotel for Spring Break. Overall it was just okay. We stayed in the Deluxe Junior Suite With Three Beds. While pretty small, it fit all of us. Storage is a huge problem. There is one dresser with 3 small drawers. Not enough for five people for a week long stay. There is... More

I have just spent 7 days at the Ocean Lodge and it was everything I needed for my stay. That is to say, a clean room, comfortable bed and easy reach of all that West LA has to offer on your doorstep. I have stayed in much more expensive hotels in Santa Monica and, whilst they are pretty cool, I... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
