The Ocean Lodge is a decent place to stay if your on a budget and want to be in a good location in Santa Monica. The rooms are small but clean and have all you need for a short stay. I'll be honest, if your spending a lot of time in your room in Santa Monica then maybe this place... More

Very clean and very convenient. That's it. It's not quaint or cute in any way, and there are no views of any sort. However, if you want a good location from which to enjoy Santa Monica, it'll do the trick. There is limited onsite parking, but the garage that they offer for just $5.00 a day is a safe and... More

Very good location near the Santa Monica Pier and the Pomegranate st. The rooms are simple with no great features, but nice. Just a little smelly of humidity but we thought it could be because it is close to beach. Just 20 min drive from atractions like Universal Studios.

This is basic lodging, but the rooms are clean, and 1 block from the Pier, and Great Restaurants within a short walk. You can hear almost every street noise in our unit #217, which was a 2 BR Suite (?). For the price of $250 per nite w/parking a little disappointing. However, Other hotels in the area are $450 per... If you want upmarket & luxury this hotel is not for you. If you want clean, affordable in the heart of Santa Monica than this hotel is for you. Travelling with 2 teenage boys is hard in the US especially with bedding - its very hard to find twin beds so when I saw a room that had 2 double... More

We were grateful to find this motel in such a fantastic location. It is a block to the Santa Monica Pier, walking distance to 3rd Street Promenade in one direction, and also to Main Street restaurants in the other direction. There is a beautifully landscaped new park with play areas and sprinklers for kids directly behind the hotel. The room... More

We booked one night and the Filipino receptionist advice us that we could get two rooms for free instead of one room. Or a second night for USD25. What a nice offer! Rooms where perfect for families. Location very very good. We are happy!

The good news is the location of this hotel and free WiFi in the room. On the other hand beware if you have any issues with balance or walking. There is no elevator and you need to carry your own bags up a series of steep stairs. When we arrived there was no one to help. There is free coffee... More

Partner, 18 yo daughter and myself had 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom suite. Perfect location, basic facilities, some noise but not too much to worry about. Some homeless people nearby but never hassled by them. Heating difficult to get right, and TV reception dropped out a bit. Free WIFI was good. Great location as 2 mins walk to Pier, and about... A group of 5 of us stayed here in Nov 2014 in the two bedroom room. Firstly the rooms are alot smaller in real life, the photos are a little deciving, so keep that in mind. However we all fit in with our huge suitcases and had an absolute blast. Literally a two minute walk to the pier and about... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
