This is a very good hostel. The location is fantastic and value for money is incomparable to anything else in the area. This is clear when you see the variety of guests who check in - legit backpackers, travelling party-goers, oldies, young families with kids... its all here! Lots of public transport options run from straight out in front of... More

all the rooms where we normally stay in Westwood were booked so my lady suggested something we had always wanted to try, a Hostel. We looked up the one closest to Westwood and found this place in Santa Monica three blocks from the beach. We were for sure the oldest couple there and yet we were welcomed with a great... More

Can't really give this hostel any bad feedback other than the rooms were pretty hot in the night! Decent vibe in the hostel. Good chill out spot with a big tv and a nice outside area. Pub crawl was pretty awesome and easy to meet people. Really close to the beach!

I stayed here for 1 night and it was great. The beds are comfortable and have great pillows, the bathrooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I also liked the events they had planned throughout the week everything from pub crawls to comedy shows. All of this on top of it being a 2 minute walk... More

Great location, walking distance to the pier and shopping district! Visited during August and the hostel was busy. Wifi was good, breakfast average but included in price of stay which is always a bonus!

Good for a base of operations if you are travelling and looking to explore Santa Monica. Hostel is located a block away from the famous beach where 'Bay Watch' was filmed, when I was there they also ran trips to Universal in Anaheim and Hollywood. I'd recommend to back-packers as a place to stay. Some nice Italian restaurants, a British... More

My last visit to Los Angeles was 2012. When I decided to visit Los Angeles again, I chose to stay in this hostel without hesitation. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. I stayed in a male dorm with six beds. Due to the low season, there were only up to four hostellers (including me) staying in the same room.... More

To keep it brief: Rooms clean, tidy and well laid out inclluding extra blankets and a reading light. You have to bring your own lock for locker. Breakfast included was great. Staff were very helpful including printing me out bus directions and dealing with my lack of payment options. Organised trips were cool. Had a lot of fun.

I´ll start for the bad things: we´ve done a reservation for a 5 straight days and for our surprise at checkin they told us will have to stay for 1 night in one room and move the other day for another. No problem at all, but the next day I went to the front desk just to confirm this and... More

Excellent location; friendly staff; clean rooms. The bathrooms could have been better. There was no air-con in my room which was a disappointment. The common areas are very good ..nice cozy TV area & the breakfast served was high quality with a lot of options. Would definitely come back again!

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
