I've been twice in this youth hostel, and it's a good one in California. Well located : - By bus from LAX Airport : 1 hour (3$) - By Shuttle : I recommand The Hostel HOPPER you can book at the front desk at the Hostel (17$) 20/30 mn. I've taken both. Be prepared to have some coins with you... More

Good location for Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Rooms tidy and secure. Safe car park across the road. Really enjoyed a first night in LA staying here. Communal dining area is friendly and serves an excellent free breakfast.

This hostel from the get-go was very accommodating and friendly. All booking processes were simple, easy, and efficient. The staff were great; very helpful and personable. You are literally located a 1 min walk from the beach and in the heart of the premonade full of phenomenal restaurants and storefronts alike. One of the main things that set this hostel... More

Amazing Experience. Great rooms, everything you need is there. Clean, neat, organized, beautiful... great infra sctructure, not to mention the location, which is close from the best spots in Santa Monica. Nothing missing, on point!

Location right by the beach obviously drives up prices but it is really very expensive for a hostel. There is nothing wrong with the service or cleanliness of the hostel, it's just that it feels like an impersonal big box hotel rather than a place where solo backpacker travellers can hang out and meet each other. Santa Monica beach is... More

the best hostel in santa monica and venice beach. Our private room was very clean and the position is great! I suggest this hostel to everyone, even if you're looking for a hotel this could be a nice place to stay.

This hostel was honestly so worth it! The staff absolutely rocked, the guests were friendly and I must say that it was the highlight of my trip. I say this because I made so many great friends and this is because the hostel organised excellent outings to make that happen. The hostel was excellent in organising taxis for me when... More

I was in L.A. for a about a month, was staying off and on in this hostel and after curiosity for the best of me, I signed up to join their Wed. night pub crawl. I had such an amazing time meeting and partying with people from all over the world that I went back every Wed for 3 more... More

I loved to pub crawl and had to go back for another session, big up Keith. Bizarrely, I met someone on the pub crawl then bumped into them again randomly in a mall in Miami weeks later! A great hostel to find new friends although a little pricey for what it is, and I'm used to London prices... What more... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
