Solo female traveller, 24 years old. Stayed in a 10 bed dorm without bathroom. Dorm was clean, beds comfy enough with sheets and a towel provided. As a young traveller was a bit unsettled when I can back one night to find an older woman with a walker in one of the beds, who had no obvious luggage so I... more

I would urge anyone who has previously been unsure about staying in a Hostel to give it a go! This was the first trip we had been on and we stayed in mix of hotels and hostels throughout California. The location of the hostel was perfect. Santa Monica is a beautiful part of LA, not far from the airport (about... more

The staff were really rude. The bunk beds were shaky and really uncomfortable. The bathroom shower curtains were pretty thin. Overall not great place, i wouldn't recommend. And for what i paid, the hotel carmel across the road was far better. It was close to the beach and promenade. It did have cheap internet. It was close to shops. Not... more

Spacious room for an 8 bed dorm with lockers for everybody (bring own padlock). Beds were comfy enough but nothing special and towels were provided. The room had a fan and the windows could be opened. Bathrooms clean and tidy but lacked some privacy e.g. big gaps in the walls between toilets. The water in the showers wasn’t always hot... more

This hostel is really a gem. It's clean, it's well-maintained, and it has every creature comfort one could possibly want from a hostel, from high-speed Internet to a nice breakfast spread to lovely common areas. They also have free tours, directions and maps to just about anywhere one could possibly want to go in the Greater Los Angeles area, and... more

This hostel is in a great location if you want to be away from the hooplah of downtown LA or hollywood. It is a very close to the beach. It is opposite a police station, has great restaurants and shops nearby. I enjoyed being by the sea but also being beside a tourist travel/tour agent to take me on tours... more

Huge place, great location right near 3rd street promenade, and short walk to ocean and boardwalk. Tons of things to do nearby. Really clean, amazing industrial kitchen, bring your own food to make! Nice free breakfast spread in the mornings too! Great place to stay. more

I stayed here on & off for more than 25 days and there is nothing like it in Santa Monica - Location, Interesting People from all walks and ages in life & free breakfast for the USA pennies you pay. I did get a sick stomach (vomited & recovered) for a day - probably from the breakfast I ate. Rooms:... more

I think that this hostel is the best bet for the money it costs. Rooms: A friend and I stayed in the female dorm in a 6 bunk room. The room was a bit small with all of the 6 of us in at one time. The beds were clean and lines and towels were provided. There was single private... more
