I stayed here 2 nights with my boyfriend before going to Santa Barbara. The valet drivers were friendlier than the front desk. They gave you a warmer feeling and offered their help for anything that we might have needed. Hence, i tipped them well for their consideration despite the $39/night parking rate. The front desk was okay but they could've... More

The Viceroy was recommended to us by our private stylist from Nordstrom. We found it to be very cozy and comfortable. The location is right in the heart of Santa Monica and you can walk everywhere you need to go including Venice. The pool is very small and a little too trendy for us middle aged folks, but we enjoyed... More

Very nice hotel close to the beach in SaMo. Room was quite big - they give you a bike to visit around and you can easily reach Venice just cycling. Liked the Sunday yoga in the big salon and the pool is very nice (though not ideal for sunbathing) Breakky could be improved (not so much choice) and also room... More

I have to say I loved this place, even the staff was cool but not off-putting I think they liked that we were Oregonians and didn't fit into the hip vibe of this place, or maybe that is why we fit in. We really loved our stay and the area is okay, but we will stay here again for sure... More

Stayed for two nights. Beautiful hotel, lovely room, great views. There were four of us in the room ( two teenage girls, two adults ) . The beds were tiny compared to the ones we had stayed in nyc, sfo and along the Pacific Coast highway. Air conditioning really noisy and the couple rowing next door till 3am didn't help... More

I recently had a business trip on SoCal and brought my son along to enjoy the sun surfing and sights before he starts college in the Fall. The hotel came at the recommendation from my sister who attended a function at the hotel and she thought I would like the feel of it-she was right on target! We were expecting... More

Had 4 nights here at the end of our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a greater hotel. The concierge recommended some great restaurants all over town. Room was pristine and bed incredibly comfortable. Cant recommend the hotel enough.

I'll keep it short and sweet: Great location, nice ocean views from the 6th floor, towels not replaced completely (used ones were taken though), AC is a bit too noisy for my taste but not unbearable, comfy king bed, friendly staff, ok gym, basic hairdryer. I was expecting more but I'm generally difficult so YMMV.

Viceroy s an older motel updated years back to become this hip hotel, room decor is interesting, the bar is a scene at night and especially on weekends is fun to be apart of. Valet service is costly at best, Definately great for a night or two away

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
