I rarely ever write a review, but I was so pleased with my stay at the Ambrose. If you stay there ask for Jorge! He was so very kind. He had worked his night shift and instead of just up and leaving he continued to help other guests including me. You could see how exhausted he was but still maintained... More

This Boutique hotel was really impressive in the attention to detail, a great self-serve breakfast and nicely-appointed rooms were extremely serene and enjoyable. The parking garage was very convenient. The Whole Foods store a block away was super-handy.... Great pizza for the kids to eat back in the room, while we went out for an alone dinner! There something totally... More

On the L.A. marathon day, the hotel should have real shuttles (mini vans or bigger) or rent extra vehicles to take the marathoners to the shuttles. One car is not enough for such a big event. We had to take a taxi for a couple of miles to meet with the marathon shuttles. It was also tough to get back... More

I was looking for a hotel close to St John's Hospital in Santa Monica. I wanted a nice hotel within walking distance and where I felt safe walking at night. Even tough the hotel is undergoing renovation it did not effect me at all. I walked to the hospital in mid morning and returned late night. The room was very... More

This visit was much better as we only experienced noise from the fourth floor on the first day when we arrived. Although workers were also there on Monday we did not here any noise. It was nice and quite over week-end. Breakfast service was restored back to usual great quality and exercise room was back to normal as well. Staff... More

I like boutique hotels and this one did not disappoint. Rooms were quiet. My requested down pillows were there when we checked in. They had a hotel car to take us to dinner. The breakfast was fresh and bountiful and the staff was great.

The hotel is close enough to walk to Wilshire or Santa Monica Avenue shops and restaurants and yet tucked away so its quiet and it doesn't feel like a business hotel. It's lovely inside, the rooms are spacious and comfortable - I really enjoyed staying there - it was a surprise to me - I expected something less and I... More

This hotel is under construction. There is no lobby, and you have to check-in in the garage underneath the hotel (down a steep driveway). The rooms have thin walls and I the guests next door were easily heard. Overall with construction they should just close until they are ready to re-open.

The entire lobby is under construction and some of the rooms. It starts at 8am and it's pretty loud, it was hard to work. Room is clean but bed is super firm, I had problems sleeping. Front desk seems disorganized

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
